Honestly, I would rather spend more for Asomugha, because he is bar none the best in the NFL and one of the 4-5 best ever to play cornerback. He is so good that essentially teams forget his side of the field. However, it fits the Texans to not spend top money, but instead spend good money and over pay for Taylor or Joseph. Having said that, even if they prove to be only slightly above average starters, they will be a VAST improvement over what else the Texans have, and sadly are probably worth it even being over paid.
I disagree. Yes I thought he had a chip on his shoulder and didnt mind letting the world know. What's wrong with that? Wants market value. What's wrong with that? Would like a little more PR? Hell, if I were in the same seconddary with Polomalu and was seeing him on every other commercial i'd be a little jealous too lol. He considers himself a top 5 corner and puts his film up against anyone. I liked his confidence. He also noted how he's never been in trouble, doesn't make waves in the locker room, etc. He'd look damn good in steel blue.
Ike Taylor is considered a well above-average starting CB for a championship-level team. He's been the No. 1 in Pittsburgh for several years. He's no Asomugha, but you're kidding yourself if you think Taylor is even in the same realm as the likes of Todd Wade and Morlon Greenwood, who were mediocrity at its finest (yes, before Houston as well).
