Dont get it. Are you saying this thing should be downplayed? This belongs in D&D to support whatever argument youre trying to make
I think it is a compliment to call him a r****d, otherwise I will call him a mass murderer. The duty of elected officials in a major crisis that threatens thousands of lives like this is to protect the public and educate the public in spite of its own ignorance and stupidity. If the measures taken dont work you take harsher measures as has been done just about everywhere. Americans dont have the sole claim to stupidity. No population who are pampered by years peace and health just want to abandon their work and close themselves in house for weeks. Noone likes wearing masks. The government makes you to save your life. The only thing special here is that your leaders are either complete r****ds or sociopaths.
No, the problem is with Americans. I am tired of hearing about how its always the politicians fault. And its been tolerable until the moment it came down to Trump/Hillary. Trump/Biden only confirms. They are not even competent enough to put reasonable leaders into authority. Americans have become simple minded idiots who can no longer think for themselves. 6 months into this, like simple minded children, we have be to told to wear masks. To social distance. To avoid crowds. ect...
New study found air pollution substantially increases the severity and risk of death from Covid 19. It had been observed since months ago but they had to find bizzaro Netherlands where the urban centres have less air pollution than the cow dunged villages. Makes you wonder how the mortality in China where you cant even see from the smog is less than elsewhere.
Most everyone has to be told this not only americans..cant argue with you get what you vote for though. If you elect an anti science idiot then you got what you chose.
Is there info on how the percentage of covid plosive patients in ICU have changed in the last week in Florida? The census of total ICU patients could be increasing slowly because non-emergent procedures are being delayed to make room for covid patients. However, there is a limit on how much non-covid patients can be turned away. You'll still have car accidents, strokes, heart attacks etc. For example, for the last 10 days, TMC's ICU usage went from 1367 (103% base capacity) on July 2nd to 1365 (103% of base capacity) on July 12. There is actually a net decrease in total ICU patients. Sounds like we're out of the woods right? However, in the same time span, the number of covid-19 patients in the ICU increased from 512 to 682, a 33% increase. Decreasing the number of non-emergent procedures is a tool that can only get you so far. Once it reaches a point where it can't be decreased any further, the chance of ICU being overrun will increase dramatically. An additional thing to consider is if hospitals are getting more strigent on how badly someone has to be to be admitted to the hospital if their resources are stretched thin. Are the extra capacity in the Florida ICU their 'base' capacity with enough staffing and resources or absolute maximum where they need 1500 FEMA nurses to function?
The US does not have a monopoly on stupid people. Stupid people generally just listen to their favorite leaders, since they can't think for themselves. Most other countries' leaders - even the stupid ones, the dictators, the ones that don't care about their people - spoke with one voice and the population, both stupid and smart, listened. Here, we had one leader that routinely called it a hoax, wanted to fake the numbers to make things look better, refused to wear masks, opposed his own scientists, etc. It's not surprising that the stupid people listened to him, and yes, 6 months later we're having to tell people to do the same basic things: that can be directly blamed on said leader. Or the founding fathers, if you prefer, for creating a convoluted electoral college system so that the person who most people voted for didn't get elected. Brazil is the one other country in the world that took a similar approach to this virus, with their leader saying all the same things and firing all of his health advisors that said otherwise. Not surprisingly, they are #2 in this mess. It's fascinating how far you will go to avoid laying blame on the people most directly responsible for this mess, while trying to throw it onto a bunch of different groups who are more marginally responsible, despite global evidence to the contrary.
Yeah I mean it's a tiny isolated island... not saying it isn't impressive, but comparing Taiwan to the U.S. is ridiculous.
You act like there is a solution that unequivocally fixes everything, or guarantees success against the virus. Yes wearing masks and distancing is effective, but who is going to enforce that every single person does that? Do you think we should threaten jail time and lock people up for it? Do you think we should fine people thousands of dollars for not doing it (in the middle of a recession)? I mean I guess there are more strict ways to enforce it, but nobody wants that at all, and it would come with intense backlash. There has been some stupidity with leadership, but blaming the entire thing on our leaders is just lazy af.
I had completely forgotten about Chuck Woolery. Now that I know he is an idiot, I can go back to completely forgetting him again.
