Trump and his surrogates setting an example on wearing a mask and social distancing from the beginning would have saved tens of thousands of lives

btw, trump is going to florida for a meeting on drug trafficking and some fundraising before a few rounds of golf. Perhaps someone will ask about the ginormous rise in COVID-19 in florida and why they should open schools?

I find it strange that @bigtexxx MD is nowhere to be found

I thought we were getting the virus under control? I thought death tolls were lowering all across the country and ICUs had plenty of space? Care to use what you learned while attending med school online as well as what u learned during your virtual residency to explain what is going on?

What? Isn't electric vehicle charging stations news more important than lots of Floridians dying?

Conroe ISD released *preliminary* plans for school fall... important for any parent here with kids in a CISD school, or teachers in CISD. Since my wife's preschool follows CISD guidelines, I suspect they will need to invest in Seesaw...

Conroe ISD releases preliminary plans for upcoming school year

Earlier this week the TEA released its guidelines and requirements for school districts for next year amid the COID-19 pandemic. With those guidelines, districts were able to start creating their own plans for 2020-21, and on Friday Conroe ISD released some early details on its website.

CISD’s Road to Reopening details are subject to change, as the situation around COVID-19 changes day-to-day. As expected, CISD will be offering both in-class instruction and remote instruction and families will need to make their selection by July 28 at midnight. Changes can also be made at the end of the nine-week grading periods.

In-person instruction will be five days a week during standard school hours but will look a little different with COVID-19 related changes in place. New procedures have been set up for arrival, departure, transition periods, in the cafeteria and classrooms, for visitors, during PE and recess, and for restroom and elevator use. Each plan looks different for the different grade levels. All new in-class instruction details can be found on the CISD website.

For remote instruction, students pre-k through second grade will use Seesaw as a learning platform, all other grades will use Canvas. The district website states that students will continue to meet their goal of being academically prepared while learning through remote instruction.

“Courses and course content are created to ensure that students continue learning at the pace of the current Conroe ISD scope and sequence as well as continue to develop a love of learning and gain appropriate academic and social-emotional skills,” according to the CISD remote instruction webpage.

Remote learning this year will not look like the distance learning the district implemented at the end of last year, and the district promises that it will be much more rigorous and be a heavier workload. TEA guidance released several weeks ago laid out two models for remote-instruction, asynchronous and synchronous.

CISD has chosen to have an asynchronous model with synchronous instruction, meaning students will still be participating in class remotely but will have to complete assignments from homes. Students will have to show proof of participation each day, after checking in with their teacher, through the completion of assignments, while attending real-time virtual classes. They even have to follow the CISD dress code.

The district has assembled a 75-person reopening task force to develop protocols and procedures, communicate with families, prepare academic delivery models, and meet the needs of the students whether they be social, emotional or even nutritional needs. A list of the task force members can be found on the Roadmap to Reopening webpage.

At 6 p.m. on Monday, CISD superintendent Curtis Null will be holding another YoutTube Live to address the reopening plans. Questions for Null to address can be submitted through a form on the Roadmap to Reopening webpage.

@bigtexxx MD, could u tell us what is going on in these hospitals since u have so much experience and have treated so many Covid-19 patients? Is it a situation where hospitals aren’t concerned because these people were on their last legs, were gonna die anyways, and all the virus is doing is accelerating their death? I’m very interested in seeing what u and your fellow google physicians have to say.
