    Cooper-Dyke is the only four-time (or even three-time) Finals MVP in league history, and she is still the only back-to-back league MVP winner. She led the greatest dynasty in WNBA history, rising from a relative unknown plying her trade in Europe to become the top player in women’s hoops.​

    It’s a great story. In fact, now that Jordan’s film is in the books, and once they finish telling Tom Brady’s tale, maybe Cooper-Dyke should be the subject of ESPN’s next documentary about GOAT athletes.

    A friend of mine bought Cooper's shoes. He bought them in a size big enough to fit him. He now wears heels. Naw, JK. Cooper was the women's version of Michael Jordan.

    yeah they clearly had no idea how good she was when they paired her with swoopes, thinking swoopes would be the star. having swoopes as the second best player was basically unfair. throw in how good tina thompson turned out to be and kim perrot being so good, the rest of the league didn't have a chance.


    edit: actually read the article. didn't realize swoopes had such a dominant 2000. didn't remember cooper just retiring on top with 4 straight titles. didn't realize delle donne was doing so well. side note, how legendary would theresa witherspoon's halfcourt finals shot be if it happened in the nba? a halfcourt buzzer beater with 0.8 on the clock, down by 2, in an elimination finals game.

    They achieved what no professional basketball team could ever do in winning 4 straight championships. Those were proud moments for sure for Houston sports fans.

    there is a Bill Simmons documentary on HBO, "the women of Troy" , about the great USC women team,

    starring Cheryl Miller (the greatest women baller ever, and Reggie's older sister),
    supported by the McGee twins, one of whom the mother of current NBAer JaVale McGee
    and the fourth banana Cynthia Cooper​

    to go from being the 4th banana on a college team to become the GOAT in the WNBA makes for a great story

    Don't forget about Janeth Arcain. She was Brazil's best female BB player. We had the best starting five in the league.

    On Jan. 20, around the midpoint of this past season, members of the Texas Southern women’s basketball team received an email from the university’s student conduct coordinator, Dontia S. Warmack, informing them that the school was instituting a limited-contact order between the players and their head coach, Cynthia Cooper-Dyke. That order stipulated that players could not have one-on-one meetings with Cooper-Dyke and could not communicate with her “via text, phone, social media or email” as the school conducted “a safety-risk assessment.’’    ​
