O'Brien inspired his players last week, slamming his playbook down. "This is the last f'ing Dance. The last one. Let's just win it."

Could you see O'Brien coaching the Bulls???? He would've tried to trade Rodman between Games 2 and 3 during the NBA Championship, after he ran off to Vegas! Lol

It takes a SPECIAL coach that can deal with all of the different attitudes.

    Agreed,

But do you want Watson hanging out with Nuk and do you think if he does Watson will be as good as he can be?

These are the types of things that GM's have to take into consideration.

With a NFL roster of 53 player, plus 10 on the Practice Squad, it is impossible to regulate who players surround themselves with outside of the facilities. Players have a certain sense of responsibility. Dennis Rodman partied like none other but he performed on the court! I don't know what Nuk did or did not do but he preformed on the field. And if this trade turns out to be good or bad, we want know until after the season.

O'Brien tried the same thing with Clowney, by trading DJ Swearinger! This is not Highschool. These players are grown men, they are who they are.

    Agreed

And these players are no longer on the team because of the attitude you describe.

Watson is a young Grown man with money in his pocket, he's going to party no matter who's on the team. These guys are young and you're kidding yourself if you think it's going to be all football all the time.

BoB would have wanted to cut Jordan after he went to Atlantic City after going down 0-1 to the Knicks in the ECF. That's something Aaron Hernandez would do.

Jerry Krause would have had to talk him out of starting Steve Kerr at SG with no backup SG on the roster.

Dude just stop. So, O'Brien traded Hopkins to protect Watson? We hear all the time about Harden hanging out at strip clubs. You never hear anything about Hopkins or Watson.

No need to trash Hopkins' reputation to justify a bad trade and an even worse return. Just stop with the nonsense.

    I'm not justifying anything.

I'm just telling you why Hopkins isn't here.

You can accept that or not.

And you’re basing this on a poster who apparently heard this from a minority owner and a decision was made outside of our GM and HC?

Hopkins isn't there because O'Brien is an idiot. I'm just telling you....

Shouldn't have let him go, and sure as f should have received a lot more in return. The last part makes the first part inexcusable.

You can bet before a high profile trade like the Hopkins trade is made that ownership signs off on that trade.

Cal runs things by the minority owners before making a trade of the magnitude of the Nuk trade.

What about the last GM? I mean I could rehash all of the moves that don't make sense, but why bother?
King Billy Bob Didn't like Hop so he's gone. That's how it works. It's not sophisticated at all. If King Billy Bob wanted to keep him he'd still be here. (The Texans are still spending significant $$$ @WR). The tail wags the dog in H-Town. A coach that wins just over half his games has total control. It's reality. It's what we have.

So just to be clear, you are subscribing to the theory that Nuk was partying too hard and that ownership was scared it would rub off on DW4 so they forced BoB to trade him?

    Nope,

I think Nuk was partying to hard, BOB went to ownership and told them this AND that Nuk wanted a big new extension for the second year in a row.

That made ownerships decision very easy. But make no mistake when franchise icons like AJ are cut, or Nuk is traded ownership is not only kept in the loop, they're the ones making these decisions. Why? Because moving on from these guys could cause loss of business and we all know how the McNair's are when it comes to the business side of things. You can also bet minority owners (Who've invested millions) are kept in the loop.

    I dont disagree with you.

But ownership was kept in the loop and signed off on the deal.
