Mcgrady always looked hurt except with ball in his hand.

    22 wins in a row.

    That's called winning!

That’s where he goes fishing when we get eliminated in the first round to bad teams like Utah

Nah, he's not a victim , he chose his destiny and while tmac fans point the fingers to everyone except tmac,
tmac is the one getting the max salary contracts to lead teams to win championships

he left teams cause he wanted to be the man, he left toronto.
as soon as he left they advanced in the playoffs
    he left orlando
Dwight Howard and his cousin Vince made it to the finals
    he left the Rockets
Ron and yao win a playoff series

being the poor man's lazy version of Kobe should never be the standard for the Rockets

Tin, how did you get me suggesting HE IS A VICTIM??? I suggested that being so good so young may have kept the self-demanding being great from ever appearing. There was quite a while where he was considered Kobe’s superior, then equal. Kobe changed that narrative; so did TMac!

You mean he was an allstar scorer with lots of talent.

    Does that mean championships?

It reminds me that one does not arrive in the NBA without talent. Some have more than others. Some maximize their talents more than others do.

When one starts with talent and a half and then just accepts that then one becomes a TMac, woe for what he coulda been.

When one starts with talent and a half and then works to be the very best version of himself then that one becomes a Dream, woe to anyone who tries to get in his way.

Yao kept getting better until he had a foot fault. Stevie just was to fault. Harden keeps getting better. TMac just does languid TV.

I am not sure if this is the case, I recently talked with another poster about Tracy trusting the wrong personal trainer in Wayne Hall, and Luther Head had to recommend Tim Grover (MJ and Wade's trainer in Chicago) to work with him but after his knee surgery and when he already declined.

He was darn loyal to Wayne Hall and his methods for more than a decade.

Wayne Hall literally focused heavily on weightlifting when his back wasn't good and he had knee problems.

This really set his career back and ruined any chance of longevity.

    So, it was his choices?

An important part of it yeah, do not get me wrong, Hall is an average personal trainer but surely not the creme of the crop or the best professional in this field.

He just isn't the guy for rehabilitation or good for veterans.

The part of him being mentally weaker than other superstars might be true.

The lie is the 'could have been'
    The reality is 'results'

    'could have been MVP'
    'never won the MVP'

    'could have won the championship'
'never led a team pass the first round'

the other lie was 'coming close'
losing in the first round is not 'coming close'
losing in the 7th game of the NBA finals is

Let's take a look a less 'athletic and talented' player in the Tmac Era.
    Allen Iverson.

He won the MVP and lead his team to the Finals and he was durable.
Yet he was 'less talented' than Tmac.

But the reality is he was a better basketball player cause he led his team to wins
The goal of basketball is not to make fans of one player happy. It's for the team to win.

As you know, the Tmac era had fans who was in love with the lie, not the reality.

I wouldn’t say he was mentally weaker; I would say there were superstars who were mentally TOUGH, totally COMMITTED.

I agree while I also think people expected too much out of him, portrayed him as lazy when in fact his workload was likely that of a normal NBA player or more.

They didn't differ disliking his mouth, personality from disliking his game.
    He sure was controversial.
