From how I read that, its not disrespectful, he’s saying he didn’t want to win a ring if it wasn’t him winning it for the team, he doesn’t count ring chasing rings as a part of a legacy.

He wasn’t a bench warmer for the Rockets. He’d be proud of that ring if he had won one.

It was in context to modern players teaming up together. He just feels if he's not the guy leading the charge then it's not the same. If he had won with us in 1997 that would definitely have meant less than if he had gotten it with the Suns to him

That first year Chuck was a major force for the Rockets
Thought he played better than Drexler

Barkley underrates his skill level when he was on the Rockets. He was solid while he was here. He was still one of the best rebounders in the game and his low post game was solid

yeah dude grabbed 33 rebounds his first game as a rocket. he was great that first year. i still understand that it wouldn't have meant as much because obviously winning while being the clear #1 option is better than winning while not being the main guy, but it wouldn't have been viewed as a role player championship. i don't think we would have beaten the bulls even if we got past utah, but obviously beating the 72 win bulls would have made it be viewed as an amazing championship for barkley.

What is he going to say? If there was a ring on his finger he would be saying something completely different. He is just frustrated because it didn’t work out for him.

Barkley, Drexler were past their prime

Pippen was worn out from 3 straight seasons of championship basketball

its nowhere near the same today with players teaming up in their prime

I think he is saying that because he feels like he failed in Phoenix because they were one of the top 4 teams for 3 straight years and couldn't get it done when it counted.

    They weren’t in their prime
Barkley and Dream say 91 to 94 would dominate the league
