If things turn ugly, the NBA will be thinking about whether it will be able to start the 2020-21 season on time. That will be it for the 2020 year, no playoffs - no champion! Total bummer. What would that mean for the Rockets for next season if this season is completely done?
The worst would be 72 games in regular and best of 3 and 5 in playoffs. playoffs starts at July with empty gym. next season starts at December
I believe they HAVE to crown a champion, some way, some how, even if it's via single game elimination tournament format. And it could very well, unfortunately, pan out that way.

They will have the best player of each team go at each other via NBA 2K and crown the champion from there.

Why does it matter? Our "window" closed when CP3 got injured. Every year from now on is just playoff hopes with our broke owner.
it seems like the nba is the last thing on fans' minds. it would be hard to plan if no one has an idea when this virus will go away. could be may, could be end of the year, or could go into next year.
the positive thing is that Harden and Russ would have enough time to heal all those nagging injuries.
maybe have a lottery with ping pong balls that determines the Champion? Regular season record dictates how many ping ball ball one has. We probably would have a better chance of winning a championship this way
I wouldn’t be surprised if not only this season is over, but 2020-21 as well. We’d be awfully lucky for this thing to be completely eradicated by Oct 2021. We might not see another normal in arena with fans NBA game until 2022.
