When I was in high school at Strake Jesuit, we used to go to the same Wendy’s several times a week. We ran into Vernon Maxwell literally 3-4 times over a year eating inside the restaurant.

He was always nice to us. One time Max was sitting and eating his 4 Texas doubles when and an older out of shape black man interrupted him mid bite and was rude and asked him to sign a Bulls hat that was all nasty and used. Max just stared at him while we laughed. The old guy then said “What it like playing MJ” and Max said “IDGAF” and put one of his wrapped burgers in the guys hat and handed to the guy.

Max might have thought the wrapped burger went to a worthy cause!

Obviously the host wasn't an OG Houstonian.

He was baiting Max to kiss Jordan's ass. Max started then 'DIRTIEST PLAYER' dropped

    SO PURE

Maxwell was a sec player of the year from Florida Gators if I'm not mistaken!

I haven't done fact checking and I know maxwell might have been college all-american!

Maxwell came from same school as Corey Brewer, the NCAA champion!

All time great Houston guards...CASSELL, Kenny Smith, Maxwell, franchise, rafer 'skip to my lou' alston.

Those the best five all time with Calvin Murphy at number 6!

Max is the best. He's really turned into a wonderful representative of Houston sports. Well spoken, loves the team, loves the city, enjoys still having fun at the expense of Utah. I don't know any other player who would call Jordan one the dirtiest players he'd seen, laugh about it, and say he enjoyed it all the same. And he has the cred to say it.

He seems like he'd be a pleasure to be around. I bet he'd ask you more about yourself than feel comfortable talking about himself. What a great guy.
