This could have and would have been lessened if we had a leader who was actually concerned about the people of the nation and how to do their job. Sadly, it looks like many are not learning from the mistake.
Somehow I'm not surprised. This is again a failure of leadership. Instead of recognizing that this is is an international crisis and that we should be working with international partners. A sensible president who isn't worried about self-aggrandizement would say. "We understand that the Germans are making progress and we would like to offer the support and cooperation to them so we can find a cure faster." Rather than try to poach them.
I suspect Red Hatters think this is leadership, to be the biggest douche in the room, esp during a crisis. He's stealing for America! America First!! Damn right!!! Steal their toilet paper too!!!!
