Nothing is more important than this if Jazz clinch 3rd seed. They are usually good between February and end of season.

Switching everything defense is not effective against Clippers. Harrell, Kawhi and George are stronger than you think.

    Who Guards Morris?

Who Guards Harrell? This could be a problem.

    Who Guards Kawhi?

    Who Guards George?

    Who Guards Williams or Beverley?

I think Green and Carroll are kind of washed up on defense.

    My idea

    Covington guards Morris
Tucker guards Kawhi, best defender defend superstar.

Who is the best to guard Harrell, 26 years old strong man?

One thing is for certain, Kawhi will be hiding in the corner guarding Tucker once again.

How to Guard Healthy Rockets at Fourth Quarter come playoffs time?

Nothing is more important than this if Rockets are healthy and firing on all cylinders when the postseason arrives. They are usually whooping any non-GS team’s ass in playoffs.

Switching everything defense is not effective against Rockets. Harden and Russ with a spread floor due to small ball lineup is stronger than u think.

    Who guards Harden?

Who guards Russ? This could be a problem.

Who does Williams guard? Who cares who guards Bev?

Who closes out on all the shooters?

I think Bev and always injured PG are kind of overrated on defense.

It remains to be seen how healthy PG will be he's been pretty much a non factor due to nagging injuries everywhere

    This thread is silly.

Seriously, who guards who in a switch-everything defense anyway?

Smart offenses will keep throwing screens at us until they get the defensive matchup they want. We could have the best defender in the league, but if he's forced to rotate and cover PatBev, what good does that do us?

with the clippers you can attack their ball handling. Rivers and Gordon are effective at the point of attack, james and russ and underrated there too. RoCo might be as well. idk

Switch everything works ok. Harrell is the only one id be concerned about demolishing us with strength. If kawhi and PG want to take post ups that likely end up in 2pt jumpers ill take that all day. But even with Harrel, he can brun you for a half and then you can randomly double team to mix it up , hes a young player , he might not be great at making the passes.

Im not scared of the clippers offense, im scared of their defense lol. Sure morris might get hot , but we have gordon, rivers, green, ben, house,pj that can get hot.

I don't think you watch the rockets very much if you think we will get to determine these defensive matchups.

    Chemistry

can Je Green shoot 3 better than Ja Green?
Can mclemore shoot better than Shamet?
Can rivers shoot better than Lou Williams?

First round playoffs if Jazz clinch 3rd seed.

Doc rivers or MDA loses in the first round, will be fired?

Owners give you a Championship team, you are supposed to beat at least 1 team in playoffs, If you can’t, you are the worst coach.

Montrezl will be an issue. Always gave the Rockets problems. Eats Tucker alive. Capela shut him down last time we played them so it will be interesting now that he’s gone.

We still have money to get good players in buy out market. No need to worry about it. Maybe we can employ Van Gundy as defensive coach for this year to ensure to win the title using defense

Pocket Rockets are scrambling on defense and rebounding now, it's great to watch. The only negatives on the team now are Harden and Westbrook offball. They both have the athleticism and lateral quickness to play on ball, however, and Harden particularly in the paint. Defensively, Harden is our center, while we probably start with Covington on ball. Once the switches happen, however, they may try to isolate someone on Westbrook as more preferable option than RoCo, Tucker, House, Gordon etc.

But this isn't like last year where Chris Paul on-ball was a sieve, and Capela all of a sudden lost whatever surprising ability he had to guard the perimeter in 2017-2018. I really think Capela put on some detrimental weight between those two years that allowed him to hang more easily in the post but ultimately hurt his switchability and lateral movement.

Our defense has some real potential down the stretch.

best defense is offense. we ain't need to guard nobody. we just need to outscore them 1 more point by the end of regulation.

And force more turnovers than opposition.

3's still count more than 2's.
