This was long over due. Next we need, voluntary of course, mental health treatment for these boys. Something is not normal about this situation. Compare that to human history, or even the rest of the world, and this is the definition of backwards and wrong.

I dont want to go deep into this however, one of the transgenders bragging about the work they put in is sickening.

Hey we want to accept gender identity vs biology, fine im not gonna fight it. But what's so stupid is they aren't competing in their heads, they're competing with other.real people

Absolutely a sign of what happens when people use ideology instead of science. This is no different than the church supporting the idea that the Earth is the center of the universe. We are in some modern witch burning times....

    Compare what to human history?

Do you think trans is a new phenomenon?

As someone on the left I'm fine with people wanting to do whatever they want, including having whatever gender identity they want, as long as it doesn't infringe on my or anyone else's rights.

But allowing transgenders to compete in the division of their choice based on their gender identity is ridiculous. It's obviously unfair to alll of the biological females participating.

Athletics is one area where biological differences cannot be ignored. Same as in healthcare, where doctors have to take into account the sex of a person in order to make health decisions.

I empathize with transgender individuals wanting to be treated equally, but this is one area where they are going to lose. And the more they stake their fight for equality in the realm of athletics, the more harm they do to the larger (and much more important) struggle for civil liberties and dignity.

All the doctors in the American Psychiatric Association are agenda driven political hacks.

Only dachuda86 is a true scientist.

No that would be ignorant. Of course there have been people with this mental illness called gender dysphoria. Well documented in fact. But the way it's being handled with kid gloves is unprecedented. The way the language is being policed is. Show me an example where people are forced to use pronouns, or a society that decided to support 101 flavors of gender. Show me one that denies biology in the way we do regarding sex which is decided by genetic coding.

First, America is not the only country and our modern time is but a short flash among a long line of human history. The West today is but an abnormality in handling this issue. Get outside your bubble and you'll get confused looks and disbelief if you explain how American society is handling these things. People in other countries laugh at it because they don't have the same ideological left trying to push radical agendas everywhere.

Also most consider psychiatry a soft science for a reason. Biology however, well, that's respected. Yet you want to tout the APA. OK. I'll raise you any biology textbook written before progressives touched it.

most of them and most of history... progressive ideology will be rejected ultimately and the future will look back and laugh at people who rejected science in favor of people's delusions and feelings about sex and gender. The same way we can't believe people didn't understand heliocentricism. What is worse is that this is regressive. We already figured this one out through observation and then through genetic research. It's not complicated. You don't need scientists.

Also interesting you would bash those countries... Do you fancy them backwards? Are their people incapable of seeing a penis and a vagina? Do they not have biology in their schools?

Vague BS, no specifics, "everybody's doing it" .

Based on "most of history" we should be still whipping black people, because everybody "just knew" they were inferior and didn't want no scientmitists telling them otherwise.

So this is the West's problem?

Take a look at trans in Japan and India as well as Thailand.

    Brazil? Hell, Mexico even.

eta: Here's a survey on public opinion of transgender rights in 23 countries by The Williams Institute, if anyone's interested: https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/wp-content/uploads/23-Country-Survey.pdf

As to the "compare to human history" part of this nonsense, here's a handy interactive map of global historical cultures and their concepts of "3rd gender": http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/content/two-spirits_map-html/

He said it was a West issue was just pointing out eastern cultures.

The 3rd gender was the term I was looking for.

Right, I was pointing out a couple of Latin (which I don't consider to be part of "the West") countries as well.
