Sampson is the right guy at the right time in the right place. This is the most fertile recruiting soil in the world. And, it belongs to us now. We haven't even changed conferences yet. The Prez, AD, and $$$$ are all on the same page. There's no stopping us.
This game was all about Q. Grimes. Maybe his best game of the season. Nice win although against a determined USF team.
Winning 20+ games for 5 seasons in a row for the first time in UH history is an amazing accomplishment considering that our history is filled with some great teams. Beats out the 4 years of Phi Slama Jama and the 4 years from 69-72. Also won 20+ for 7 of 8 years from 65-72. Im hoping Sampson doesn’t leave, but I still think he wants to try the NBA one more time. Doubt he’d coach the Rockets as he’s a builder...but he may see that he doesn’t have a lot of time left and figure it’s his best shot, especially if Fertitta begs him. Could also see him replacing Pop in San Antonio, but I think someone else like Duncan May get a shot next.
If people really followed Sampson and his current movement and what he has planned for the future, they would know that he has no interest in the NBA anymore
If he does leave, Kellen is primed to step into his shoes and not miss a beat (especially on the recruiting front). There is literally no ceiling for the future of UH basketball right now.
The non existent offense is gonna need to step up to win this tonight. It has been there for the taking, but we haven’t taken it.
Definitely nice game for Sasser. Pretty much a no show for everybody else Other than the 3 pointer towards the end to give us a brief lead Grimes was scoreless, no rebounds, no assists, five turnovers, and fouled out when we needed him the most. Mills was 2-14, Jarreau fouled out, White and Gresham no contribution. Not a great team effort. Would nave been nice to pull this one out. We had our chances.
I've been saying it all season.. young team will play inconstant and some nights drive you nuts. They're on the right path. Coach is going to get this bunch ready for the conference title.
The AAC this year has had so many close games. very small margin of error. All three of Houston losses have been by two points or less
I’d like to go 4-1 and head into the tournament with a 1seed. That should give us at least 26 wins before the NCAA. But our confidence will be shaken a bit with even just two more losses. They have to regain it.
