All the best to Rick Smith. Terrible for anybody. Actually glad for him to have taken the time off and spend some time with her.

I lost my Mom to breast cancer 25 years ago. It's a horrible disease. My condolences to the Smith family, very tough situation.

It seems only Josh Innes did this openly... for a full show (only because I have trouble figuring how to get my Echo to play some other sports radio)

Josh Inness is the biggest fake tough guy. He might be worse than Jim Rome

Sadly I believe it. Cal has shown his prior reputation of being a spineless dullard was earned. We also know from recent history Cal is completely enamored with O’Brien and will do whatever O’Brien wants.

Classy organization and classy owner and head coach.... make the city of Houston proud.

RS b!tching about the way the McNair's treated him? LMAO

The McNair's should've fired his incompetent a** in 2010. I mean heck, he's Cal's kids godfather and that's the only reason he was able to keep the GM job as long as he did.

RS is just bitter because his incompetent a** cant get a job in the NFL right now. This is his attempt to stay relative in NFL circles. Pathetic

I like the moves the FO made last offseason and look forward to seeing what they do this season.

Most of the best players on the team came from Rick Smith. Watson, Hopkins, Watt, McKinney, Mercilus, Fuller, Reader, Cunningham, etc.

Some people will never understand this. They are convinced that things got better after Rick left when its painfully obvious that they have gotten much worse.

Did you read the article? Sure, fire Rick Smith; they have every right to do so and you could argue he deserved it or, at the very least, the Texans needed a new voice. But it sure reads like they took advantage of his wife's illness to do something they didn't otherwise have the guts to do. I'll leave room for the idea I'm hearing one side of a likely complicated story - but Smith's side is very compelling and I'm struggling to see a path for the Texans to justify their behavior. They look cowardice and shitty here.
