No he is clearly injured . He was dunking on people and moving far more freely just a months ago. You don’t hit a wall just like that.

I'm so tired of people making excuses for James when he goes through slumps. "He's obviously hurt", "He has tired legs", blah blah blah Hurt pride maybe, because Russ is sharing his spotlight. The invisible illnesses and injuries all players have to work through? Tired legs kills me though. I mean, do you even see him run in a game? He moves slower than anyone. It's not like he is all out hustling 40 minutes without resting.

I'm just glad he started hitting his 3's again, so I don't have to hear all the excuses people conjure up for him anymore.

They are doing him so much injustice in his development. He needs to go to another team, because MDA screwed him over. I hope he does, and becomes the kind of player Morey couldn't afford to get back

Even in this game he still didnt look completely right. Im not sure which narrative I detest more the "its cause of westbrook harden cant find a rhythm" or "he need freethrows, otherwise he sucks and cant get rhythm."

Oh you know what, scratch that my favorite is the "we are witnessing the decline of Harden." lol

You just see the hustle and energy in a new light now, after watching the tortoise style play of James for so long. People called him a stat padder too.

C’mon HP3!he 17 of 42 from the line last night, all legit fouls I might add, but that momentum they gave him (9 due to 3 point fouls) seemed to fire him up from what my eyes told me. I do think the FT issue the last 2 months has affected his overall approach to his offense. I have no issue with him scoring half his points from the line as long as it gets him going/engaged in the other phases of the game. I’m not going to argue that he may be moderately injured but there have been enough plays he’s made the last 6 weeks to tel me that if he is injured, it’s not a major injury perhaps a nagging one then instead, which sure can and would affect his over all game. Hopefully the next 9 days see him rest and recover, as I doubt he will play much in the ASG, juts hope he keeps the partying to a minimum though !!

This was an example of a game where both Harden and Westbrook had great games. So it's possible.

Defense showed up for the most part tonight which is why we won. Now lets not lose to the next sub-.500 team please.

I watched basicaly every Rockets game in last 3-4 years, and a lot in previous years. Harden is not healthy. He always look like **** and then you hear he was playing through something. He has stationary/lazy style but if he is healthy he takes it to the hole a LOT more especially with lane wide open. And since teams still double him he just deffers

Important win. When Harden and Westbrook are both hitting a reasonable percentage, the team has a chance.

You can never be too optimistic. It only sets you up for the pain of the downfall. @DreamShook

Having said that...that was a fun 4th quarter. It is fun to see the Rockets attack the basket. They can do it against every team in the league.

They still need him for now as a security piece and in case things fall apart especially in the playoffs. But they still need him in there to clog lanes and if anything give PJ or Covington a breather.

I didn’t get to watch the game but the game thread recap doesn’t disappoint. I’m assuming we lost by 20 and Harden is still fat?

If I were him I would want to be more than an undeveloped security piece. For his sake, I hope he finds a team willing to develop him. I wanted us to be that team, but no big man will play much on this team again with MDA running the show. I think Hartenstein could be really really good in 2 or 3 years, but only with plenty of big league court experience. I mean, Clint got much better over time.

I believe it was because OKC was HIS team. He could do what he wanted.
When he came to Houston it was James' team. And he and James are old buds

I think lots of Harden fans simply don't give Russ enough credit for how good he has is, and has always been. Together, they are a dynamic duo. One doesn't have to try and be the hero and do it all
