Or it’s posturing to get Roby back at a contract that makes sense. He missed too many games and was bad in the biggest game. Doesn’t make a difference to me if he was the best corner we had - I’m not overpaying for mediocre when I have limited funds.
I know it could be a waste of resources but I really feel like we need to invest in a RB in FA. If Tennessee blinks or flinches in any way we need to bring the brinks truck for Henry. MG3 is an option and we had interest in trading for him. And a dark horse is Leveon Bell who we also had interest in trading for this year. If jets release him. Loved Hyde this year but was just too inconsistent. if we can get a legit RB and make big 3 with Watson Hopkins and RB we need to do it. My reasoning behind this is I don’t see nobody on the defensive side that is going to break the bank. Reid won’t demand much Cunningham won’t be expensive Merci signed McKinney signed CBs are young We need that legit RB who can really take pressure off of Watson.
Ya not sure we can afford to shell out big time money for a RB, not when Reader, Tunsil and DW4 are all due for new deals soon. Obviously any of those guys would be an upgrade and I'd happily take any one of them but think Hyde/Duke is a good enough tandem to get things done, they actually had more YPC than Henry/Lewis did. But think the inconsistency goes back to the playcalling and lack of identity with the offense. I know the flow of the game dictates a lot of it but Duke had 7 games with 3 or less carries. Grant it he got targets coming out of the backfield but I look at the Divisional Game where he had 1 carry for 11 yards early in the 1st quarter but didn't get a single carry the rest of the game.
Reader isn’t somebody I’m breaking the bank for. Watt comes off the books next year I believe if he wants to restructure fine but I’m not paying him huge money to come back that’s even if he still wants to continue playing he can go to Green Bay. Fuller can even walk too if he gets too pricey.

I wouldn't be so sure about Reid and Cunningham. I don't think Reid is far off from being a pro bowl type player and Cunningham may not jump out at you, but he is more than a plus player and i think teams would like to get a quality LB like him. Break the bank? probably not, but there are going to get solid offers and all it takes is one team to fall in love with them. Hyde should be had for a decent price and I'd like to have him back. As mentioned above by gucci, i think his inconsistency was more scheme/match up based as opposed to him as an individual player. Reader is also a guy who might not demand a big number but he is still solid and will get paid decent. All of these plus kind of players start to add up, which obviously makes the pipeline of talent that much more important.
