We have vaccines and antiviral drugs for the flu. We have nothing about this new Corona Virus. We barely know it's DNA sequence. Primary results say that every carrier affects 3,8 people and that the reported cases in Wuhan amount to only 5% of the actual numbers because there are asymptomatics or carriers with mild symptoms. If left unchecked it can cause a huge epidemic. We can't count to be as lucky as we were with SARS that went away on it's own even though the CCP butchered the response and instead of taking measures hid the truth from the international community.

These types of viruses (ones so virulent, they cause panic) used to come from Africa, with the worst being Ebola. Africa because who knows what is hidden in those dense jungles and what happens you eat primates/mammals . Africans have been educated on dangers of eating certain animals, especially without special preparation. China needs to do the same with its poorer population.

Can't account for 1.4 billion for what they are eating, but yeah, I think people believe in superstitions. They used to eat Rhyno horns, bull testicles, Tiger innards for power and stamina. Let me make something very clear. The people who eat these aren't poor at all. It's not like they don't have anything to eat and go to the jungles and catch wild bats in caves. Nope they are rich. Look at the woman in the video who is biting the bat leg. She is in an expensive restaurant with good silverware and porcelain dishes, a nice dress and hair. Bat soups, shark fin soups, monkey brains, rhino penis etc are expensive delicacies. The average factory worker can't even come close to afford one dish. The consumers are the upper middle class or the rich. They can earn thousands of dollars each month, be educated in universities and have prestigious jobs and they go and eat bats because the word means happy. It's different than Africa where people ate whatever due to need. There is no need here It's a choice. This will and must change.
