Cannot be combined and can only be used individually. If our owner wasn't cheap we probably could use the bigger exception for Markieff (with one or two 2nd rounders attached).

The true value of the trade exception (if Tilman allows Morey to spend) is that we can expand a trade for a bigger talent like Covington by sending players to other teams and taking their players back using exceptions versus having to use a contract like Nene to match. Someone like Jonah Bolden from Philly or even Keta Bates Diop or Jordan Bell from Minnesota.

Theoretically we could send 8 Million out if we had 8 million in exceptions and use that for matching purposes separate from the $8 million worth of players into exceptions. You can use multiple exceptions in a trade but they can only take players back that fit into them individually. It’s a great tool to get a player we couldn’t easily afford while adding depth. Tilman won’t allow it probably.

Edit see example obviously would take picks. https://tradenba.com/trades/e131ts28V

Right but unless it's taking back an all-star level player, using the exception in that manner (e.g. to take back fillers) wouldn't fly with most owners whose team is rightthere at the luxury tax line.

It was morey the one giving out bad contracts that now he had to basically attach picks to trade away .oh wait is that tillman's fault

I am sure Tilman has authorized the use of said trade exceptions.

I'll humor you since you quoted me. Aside from Gordon's extension, which bad contract are you referring to? The one CP3 received that was pretty much agreed upon when he was traded to Houston before Tilman bought the Rockets?

We can use on with House and Nene for Jae Crowder
Then the other one with Sefolosha for Morris

I should have been (A LOT) clearer in that we can't combine the exceptions together for one player. Like we can't combine all of the exceptions to get an $8-$9 million player.

Whatchu mean House is 3.5, Nene is 2.5
We can use one TE partially to add use to 7.8
    6 mill (1.8 TE)
    crowder is 7.8

we can use the other TE with sefolosha to add up to 6 Million for Markeiff

Where are you getting this information that we can combine a TPE with a player in a trade? I'm really curious because everything I've read in years past says the exact opposite.

Use the TPE's to bring in Harry Giles and/Jonah Bolden.

Length, athleticism, playmaking and youth at 4/5.
