CP never inspired even remotely this level of play from James. And it's gonna put itself on full beautiful display in the playoffs. Did Harden ever have a shooting stretch with Chris Paul that he is having with Westbrook? KD and PG both had their best individual seasons with Russ and now Harden is having his best season individually...with Westbrook. Why doesn't CP have that same effect on teammates? westbrook gives us a second ball handler/facilitator/ that can score without being just a spot up shooter. of course it makes him and the team better for him to be out there. if russ was playing tonight its likely james does not jack up twenty 3s. he can just use gravity to create wide open driving lanes for russ, which sucks in the defense and gets us better looks for our spot up shooters. now of course you have geniuses on clutchfans will suggest we trade westbrook for robert covington, but hey you can't fix stupid you just make them wear helmets so they don't hurt themselves.

Westbrook's pace forces Harden to pick up his own. Harden performes better when he has that uphill momentum when he has that extra pep in his step. That usually happens more often when the pace picks up.

This is definitely true. There are times when Harden will play slow and play below his actual level of athleticism. He doesn't do this with Russ, because Russ forces him to stay athletic and play with pace for the entirety of the game.
This team isn’t better than the Rockets team that won 65 games. That was the best team in basketball and would have won the title if not for injury.
How did James play in the playoffs that year? Not up to the level he's capable of. You'll see the level he's capable of this year with Russ.
