Recalling the times when the GM wanted to sign the whole Draft Class of 2009.

Came here to post. ; )
Ditto that. Nice read on Benny Mac.
    ________________________

Early on, it was his shooting that wavered. McLemore hit just 31% of his 3s over October and November. He was getting worried. D'Antoni sensed it.

As McLemore boarded the team plane after an early-season game, he heard D'Antoni's voice.

"Hey, Ben, I'll give you 'til March to make a damn shot," D'Antoni said, according to both.

McLemore replied, "Well, Coach, I got a long time then."

"He has such a great shot," D'Antoni said. "He was probably leading the league in shots that were in and out."

"Hearing him say that gives you trust," McLemore said. "It gives you fuel. If I miss two in a row, that next one is going up."

I remember hoping that Green's injury could open the door for Ben and I'm glad it's worked out for him. I really do think he could be an elite shooter with more experience in big games with this team.

Here's to Ben rewriting the script to his career!

I found the caption under this image fascinating. It’s what we have been the last several years, but not something commonly recognized. At least in my humble opinion.

he's a nice role player on the offensive side of the ball, but EG and Rivers are both better players and should be getting more minutes.

Good article! Also highlights that *situations* play a key role in success for players. Why Morey has to identify those situations on other teams and try to sign or trade for players that might be undervalued.

If he didn't work hard in Sacramento, we should not have compassion with him.

Usually it is a bad situation + not expanding your game/even regression + injuries

One of Rachel Nichols' beliefs that she expresses on her show is that 20% of NBA players can succeed on any team, 20% of current players will fail on any team, and the remaining 60% succeed based on fit. I agree with this idea generally.

Solid read but it's essentially the same piece Kelly Iko wrote a few weeks back. Also, would be a whole lot more solid if it were about Isaiah Hartenstein.

Another anecdote that shines positive light on MDA as a coach.

    Interesting.
