Nah, MCW was ineffective AND stupid.

Defo is just ineffective, usually rather invisible. Not defending, but at least hes not a moron.

Sucks too because he was doing good in preseason. His shot takes about 9 minutes to wind up and people weren't guarding him then so I guess that is why.

Seven or eight years late. A 28-29 year old Tyson would have done wonders for us.

This was LBJ's premiere defender during that 2012 run. He did a good job too. He can't really shoot is the problem.

Do not slander Rockets legend Corey Brewer. He actually contributed some while here.

you forgot he has never used his MLE.

He tried to sign NeNe to the most ridiculous incentive based contract.

    He won’t pay Dantoni.

He didn’t take on extra salary as part of Westbrook trade.

Cant believe their are actual Rockets fans out there who don’t realize how cheap he is and he has hamstring Morey every year to go bargain shopping.

maybe you were just expecting too much. Always been a defender and never really a scorer

What is your knowledge about the Temple/Green trade falling thru? How much control did we have in that situation?

Daryl Morey and the Rockets had a deal on the table to get Green and Temple. Ownership took too long to approve the deal, debating its merits and Memphis went a different direction. Tillman got angry and claimed that Memphis screwed us. Had he not dragged his feet, Green and Temple would have been Rockets last year. Would Green have resigned? No one knows, but he said he resigned with the Clippers because he finished the year there and had a comfort level. Accordingly there is a good chance he would have resigned. Even if he didn’t, I would have felt a lot more confidence against the Warriors last year with two guys that were solid and fit our exact needs.

Tillman was willing to pay Paul & Westbrook both and send out Gordon and Capela. He will spend on big stars. He however has balked at paying important role players at every turn. From letting Ariza leave, to limiting us to Ennis for the minimum to replace Ariza, to insisting we trade Anderson and not use him as a valuable way to circumvent the cap by trading him as an expiring... to not taking back role players in the Westbrook that could either play for us or be used for trades at the deadline, to not signing Shumpert to be used as a salary piece for trade, to not using the MLE and missing out on players that could help us.

The pattern is indisputable. Tillman wants to make a big splash and will for stars, but will cut corners otherwise and it has cost the Rockets and will again at the deadline as we will not have an expiring salary to use to trade for guys like Marcus Morris or any other player making over 6-7 million.

In retrospect, we would be in a much better position now if we have kept Lou Williams, Beverley, Montrez...

He was good enough to somewhat keep LeBron in check 8 finals ago as his primary defender. The thinking was he has all the physical tools to be a better shooter and with the 3 and D emphasis in Houston with practices and all he would become Battier or Ariza.

Just imagine this most recent playoff run where the rockets only 2 bench pieces in Rivers and Shumpert and they could have had Green/Temple in the mix. Thanks Tilman
