Another excessively negative thread and it's about a guy who barely plays. Some of you need to get a life. SMH
The moves with cp3, PJ, LMM that were all brought to that team here initially was done without Tilman. Everything after that once he became the actual owner, shows him with LTS as his #1 priority. So yeah he's damn cheap
you mean a guy who is wasting a roster spot that impacts depth, on a team that actually needs depth isn't worth some sort of discussion. well that's odd
Not ideal but other teams somehow fill out their roster with vet minimum guys too (who aren't totally washed up). Hawks: Vince Carter Celtics: Brad Wanamaker Nets: David Nwaba, Wilson Chandler Bulls: Shaq Harrison Mavs: JJ Barea Warriors: Willie Cauley-Stein, Glenn Robinson, Alec Burks Pacers: JaKarr Sampson Clippers: Patrick Patterson Lakers: Rajon Rondo, Troy Daniels, Dwight Howard, Jared Dudley Grizzlies: Bruno Caboclo Bucks: Wes Matthews, Pat Connaughton, Dragan Bender, Kyle Korver TWolves: Noah Vonleh, Jordan Bell Pelicans: Jahlil Okafor Thunder: Nerlens Noel Sixers: Raul Neto, Kyle O'Quinn, Trey Burke Suns: Cheick Diallo Raptors: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Matt Thomas Jazz: Emmanuel Mudiay, Jeff Green Wizards: Isaiah Thomas Of course what they're really missing is cheap, rookie talent. (No, not fake rookie talent like Vince Edwards, Zhou Qi, Chinanu Onuaku, Gary Clark & Isaiah Hartenstein)
Thabo was always a shot in the dark acquisition, much like Mbah Moute, MCW, Ennis, etc. You win some, you lose some. But you live, you live to fight another day...to sign a player to a vet min contract hoping he outplays his contract.
Damn good list but I think Morey was looking for a 3&D player when he picked Thabo and most on that list aren't 3&D players by name/reputation.
Like I said...most of those teams have plenty of vet min busts. Most of those teams you listed have just 1-2 guys who actually contribute, and we're in the same boat with McLemore and Rivers. Morey being hamstrung and forced to find diamonds in the rough with vet min deals and 2nd round picks is not the problem. But we all know what the actual problem is, and he'll be here for a long time. The Rockets are boned.
Stop. He dumped Ryan Anderson with A FRP and D'Anthony Melton to lower team salary. He dumped A FRP with Brandon Knight to lower team salary. He let Shumpert walk instead of having him on the books as a trade asset. He let Ariza walk instead of having him on the books as a trade asset. These are just things that are visible to the public. We aren't playing revisionist history. Tilman is an owner who has yet to spend to win. It's fine. He spent $2 Billion on a team he couldn't afford.
Why follow the team then? If it's that hopeless then maybe you need to move on to a better hobby or follow a team that doesn't bring so much negativity and despair to your life. This schtick is getting really old.
All he needed was one or two of those salaries to trade to Minnesota to get Covington. Covington in addition to the current core = a solid shot at a ring. Instead, we have what we have.
he's easily better than Thabo and add in the fact that Clark's contract isn't even fully guaranteed makes it that much worse that Thabo is here, besides the fact that he gives you next to nothing
He’s not “wasting” a roster spot. He’s just a defensive specialist. Something all chip teams seem to have.
all teams need a defensive specialist but Thabo isn't even close to it. He isn't even a rotational player tbh. Defensive specialist guys like Tucker's/Ariza's are the type chip teams need
Dude, you stop. You’ve been on an anti Tilman rant for way too long now. Don’t forget what’s happening on the court. Don’t forget to be happy when we win. Ariza, Shump, Brandon Knight and Melton aren’t getting us to some special level. Making shots has to be balanced with shooting. Those guys weren’t doing that and Thabo is because he’s never being depended on to shoot. He’s here to play defense and make smart decisions on offense. He’s doing fine and he’s doing it when called upon only. We don’t need 25 rotation players. We need change up pitchers.
Why does he need to be in the regular rotation to help us against the Kawhis of this league? Situational play helps the team.
I have no idea how a non rotational player helps you against the Kawhi's of the league you're actually banking on a guy like this for matchups like that? oh boy
