This seems like a bit of a stunt by Musk for millions in free advertising.

I watched this live last night and a couple of thoughts went through my head as it was unveiled, 1) WTH? This is a joke, right? Ha Ha Elon! Very funny! Now bring in the real ****! Wait, this is going on for too long, is this the real thing??, 2) That design... where do I remember that design with its triangular look, and sharp edges and straight lines with huge wheels/tires? Oh ****! That was my childhood chicken-scratch car designs I use to doodle instead of paying attention in my classes...

I kid you not, that was exactly what went through my mind when I first saw the Cybertruck. It was ugly in my doodles, and it's ugly now. Having said that, I applaud Elon Musk for doing something different. Who knows, this may be a trendsetter if it becomes popular for its design and functionality. Speaking of functionality, how about those adaptive suspensions!

    And, why no color variant?

I think if the engineers could smooth out the hard edges, it would look at lot better.

An El Camino cannot tow and haul like this beast.

It doesn't look like a truck, it won't sound like a truck......... but the truth is, it will out truck a truck...... even if it looks like something a graduate of ITT Tech would design with lasers and Tawny Kitaen rolling off the hood.

I immediately thought of the Simpsons episode

Hard to not like the guy though. In an era of popularity tests and data sheets, Elon just kind of does whatever the f**k he wants.

**** this design neutering bullshit. People have been too scared to make concepts reality. Smooth nothing and let's finally have different design for a change. Evolution with a hammer and not a paint brush.

This is the kind of stuff people thought the future would bring. It's time to finally bring it in the 20's.

Don't get me wrong. I like it!

If the basic model with a single motor really will cost less than $40K, I think it will be a hit.

Teslas are pretty much status cars now. Heck I know hardcore Republicans that own them - It will sell simply because of the name.

Did you know apple stock fell 4% the day after the first iPhone was announced?

You must own an android phone too. Heard this stuff about apple years ago.

This is thinking different and people laugh at first.

The truck market is very difficult to break into, especially with such a radical design.

Time will tell if it pays off, but Telsa is likely going to need to appeal to people not typically viewed as truck owners.

Whether the Tesla truck sinks or swims, they should get credit for not copying everyone else, and being bold in their design and goals.

Amen. You know why trucks have always looked the same for 70 years? because no-one wants to do anything different.

Only the awd versions perform like a “truck”
Payload is nice for all, fuel range is decent in the top package.
Towing capacity for the dual motor (10,000) is less than most trailer package half ton pickups
The trimotor awd (14,000) is nice. But those packages get substantially pricier
