It's mind-boggling that entire TEAMS are shooting at 40% nowadays.

We need to find a way to become one of those teams.

I wonder how many of those teams are going, "It's mind-boggling that entire teams can be 11-4 nowadays.

We need to find a way to become an 11-4 team."

Actually just one team right now. The reigning champs.

I will take 37-39% any day.

Rockets are also 3rd in 2P%

2P% Leaders -- and check out the records of those teams.
    1. Bucks
    2. Mavs
    3. Rockets
    4. Lakers
    5. Heat
When you get in the rarified air of 40+ 3FA/gm, you're playing the 3s, layups and FTs strategy, and Rockets, Mavs, Bucks are 1-2-3 in 3FAs/100.

fwiw: we're 15th in 3F% since the Miami game -- last 9. So, Harden's shooting basically propelled us 10 spots.

Besides the Bucks, those teams don't necessarily depend their entire offense on spamming threes. Even the Bucks at least have the most dominating paint scoring force in the NBA with Giannis.

I would call the Bucks a tier 2 contender as there is no other superstar stepping it up when Giannis has an off night.

We attempt 45 and only hit 33%?

Jesus, give us the shooters on the Pelicans.. they attempt 39 and hit 38%.. that's insane.

Raptors are also crazy.. shooting 40% with 36 attempts a game.

From this list, if you're not gonna shoot that well as a team, then you better be dominant in the paint.

We could be better if we drove to the paint 5 more times a game instead of taking 5 more 3s a game.

Well, alI know is that for the past couple of seasons, the Rockets have no answer for their defense.

If we somehow make the finals, the Bucks are the team I worry about the most from the East.

It's easy when you take 10 or less 3s a game. You should try it.

Westbrick shooting nearly SIX 3’s a game while shooting 23% tends to skew things just a little bit. If he wasn’t Harden’s boy and a Rocket.... 100% of this board would (still) be clowning him (more so than ever).

Just because you’re open doesn’t mean it’s a good shot or that you should shoot it if you can’t shoot for ****. There’s a reason why you’re open. I’d like him so much more if he took 2-3 attempts MAX and focused on what he’s good at which to his credit there is a lot of.

Friendly reminder for all the die hard/delusional/unconditional Westbrook fans. He is a career 30% shooter from deep. When the playoffs roll around he tends to shoot even more 3’s. That is not a recipe for success as evidenced by first round exits each of the past 3 playoffs.

Dude is stubborn AF though and he’s never gonna change. Yeah, of course George defended him until he had a chance to play with a real winner and all of a sudden it’s peace out.

PG also says he is a likable, honest person off the court. Pure even. Players like him.

As a player he is very flawed.

It's crazy how we never seem to have the personnel to really run this 3pt heavy offense and still manage to get so many wins.

We did in 2018 with Ariza, a healthier CP3, EG, Luc and obviously Harden. Not much of a coincidence that team was the closest to getting a ring and winning 65 games in the regular season.

Interesting that both top 2 teams are equal opportunity offenses and have the 3pr shot distribution spread among players.

Miami has: Nunn, Dragic, Butler, Duncan Robinson, Herro, Olynik, even Winslow shoots sometimes.

Toronto: Lowry, Ibaka, Gasol, Matt Thomas, Terrence Davis, Anunoby, Powell, Boucher kind of shoots it. Van Vleet. Mccaw.

All of them can take it from 3 pt and have a lot of passing, cutting and moving. Maybe movement does have some kind of effect.

EG and House getting healthy should help with that

Big time. Plus if Clemons were to play, he would help out as well.

By the way, WTF with Rivers, I thought he said he practiced jacking up threes all summer long.

Not only all of that, which is accurate, but right now we have a weird mix. PJ is basically getting very little shots at all right now and instead Ben McLemore is getting a bunch and gulp...Westbrook is as well. House has been in and out.

I still wish we had a better shooting team from deep, but when healthy I think a rotation that subs out McLemore's extended minutes for Gordon and House will be much better shooting.

Still not sure what to do about Westbrook.
