It take about month or so, when hes coming off the bench, and causing turmoil. Bricking shots everywhere, and looking like he needs training camp all over again. Then they will come to the realization that this 35 year old is washed up and he will go play for china by next year or so..

He came out of his prime after okc, and hit the wall when playing for the rockets a year ago. Although he can probably still avg 13-14 a game, he is a chucker and takes too many wasted shots, just to get 7-8 buckets.

If it doesn't work out with the Blazers, does that remove some of the negative juju some of the media seemed to have for us after cutting him so soon? Or with his friends?

If he excels (volume shooting and getting Ws), does THAT add some retrospective salt to the Houston stint for those whose job it is to tell riveting stories? Which scenario works out best for the Rockets from an optics POV? I have no idea.

I think it will remove some of that juju deserved or not. If it works out in Portland, he can play some time in the NBA and retire on his own term.

I think Melo really liked playing in NY city. Towards the end, he went 2nd option and did take a back seat so Porzingas could shine. Now, unicorn is gone, Phil Jackson gone, they didn't win any big free agency. If Melo was a vet minimum guy on the bench, Knicks fans would probably still go see him.

It is not precisely as you described. Yeah, he had a very bad game against OKC and a very average game against Indy.

He had some good games too, his best shooting game versus Brooklyn, it just coincided with Chris Paul playing bad and him sitting out a suspension.

He shot better than Eric Gordon this year. It was his Defense that Morey didn't want a piece of......

Minimum contract averaging 13-14 ppg and 5.4 rpg. 32.8% from 3, below average but surely better than Westbrook or Gordon this year.

Three 20+ point games in 10 games.

Gary Clark took his spot and had couple of good games until he vanished too.

Were the Rockets wrong to sign him in the first place? Yes and No. He was willing to try for the Rockets.

Were the Rockets expecting him to be a star? Yes and that was wrong, they anticipated an Olympic Melo.
(He was strictly a role player.)

The Rockets were wrong for not giving him a good reason before they released him. His reputation was already banged up, now the Rox helped to ruin it.

The Rockets were wrong for not giving CP3 a heads up before they traded him for Westbrook too.

I think at this rate they should consider trading CJ.

I think that team has done all they can do as constructed. Lillard and CJ has been redundant for some time. They are so similar, just that Dame is better than CJ, but they give you the same thing.

    I'm excited to see him.

I absolutely love watching his mid-post isolation. Such an absurdly skilled ball-player, even though he is past his prime.

(He still has some useful tricks in his bag)
