Eh, I think it very clearly is using "aliens" as an appositive for "foreigners ... who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers ..."

The fact that they didn't list children born to illegal immigrants as an exception is not evidence that we shouldn't, in modern times, adopt such an exception (via constitutional amendment process). Illegal immigration was not even something under discussion at that time.

Sure, and I can respect that. But, I am picking sides and explaining why I don't think that approach holds water. Not arguing with you.

this was part of the reason that Nielson & Vitiello were ousted.

Nielson's replacement Kevin McAleenan butted heads in what one Trump aide described as an “immigration knife fight” when he blocked the move by the American Nazi w Jewish heritage (Stephen Miller) to stage another Department of Homeland Security shake-up this week,

miller reportedly wanted Mark Morgan, who Trump picked as the new Immigration and Customs
Enforcement Director, to become Customs and Border Protection commissioner instead.
Miller urged Trump to back Morgan's move,
but McAleenan told White House officials the next day that he was in charge of DHS,
also said that he might leave his position if he did not have more control.
He reportedly ended up winning the dispute over Miller, and Morgan is slated to take over as ICE director next week.
DHS reportedly declined to comment, and White House officials told the Post that the two men had
“worked out some of their tensions since the argument.”

lmao at the politicians asking him to resign.
The fact that he's S.S Miller is why he's a TREMENDOUSLY valuable asset to this administration.

A respectable administration would have already gotten rid of him long ago. An administration trying to pretend to be respectable would have gotten rid of him once these emails became known.

Democrats shouldn't have to do anything.

We actually didn't learn anything that was unknown from these emails. So, I doubt his career is in any jeopardy.

That is part of the problem. It should be in jeopardy.

Well, of course you don’t have a problem with it. You’re balls deep, ride or die, with this administration. Plus, you clearly share nationalist beliefs even though you’re too cowardly to own it outright.

Trump's White House policy advisor Stephen Miller, [IMG] , after Trump had signed the surrender agreement w the Taliban
---imperiling the lives of Afghanistanis---has been the active obstructionist insofar granting special visas for Afghans (translators/drivers, etc,) who helped the US military.

six years later, In OCt 2023,

The Biden Administration Is Still Looking For Migrant Families Separated Under Trump

On Monday, the Biden administration reached a settlement in a lawsuit brought on behalf of families separated at the US-Mexico border due to Donald Trump’s so-called “zero-tolerance” policy,
under which immigration agents removed thousands of migrant children from their parents.

Under the settlement, which is expected to be approved by US District Judge Dana Sabraw, the Biden administration has agreed to press on with its reunification efforts, however challenging the task may be.
But the unfinished work is a clear reminder that, for many, the nightmare of family separation never ended.
