Indeed... It’s November. Thankfully the cooler heads in our front office have always prevailed, whilst posters would have driven our continued success into the ground by now. I do wish however that we would have sent the Clippers Clint instead of Montrezl though.
Neither did Bzdelik. This is 100 percent on MDA. He needs to find a solution or quit. I don’t think he really cares though. I think most of CF’s cares more than he does.
But he has role in setting up the roster/trade/sign free agents/ and let go valuable players like Ariza/Luc and then not signing any decent players for SF/PF positions.
A fundamental change in defensive philosphy is the only way they can improve on defense. They can get another superstar , but it won't really help the defense. They will have to let MDA go to change this philosophy.
Should have done a lot of things differently …. but keeping CP3 isn't one of them , Westbrook has been really good. His first 6 games have been better than any 6 game stretch CP3 had while he was here. Shump shoulda been used in a S&T …. luxury tax savings strikes again. MLE … yeah. Shoulda done more. This is the 3rd consecutive year they have failed to use the entire MLE exception. Thanks Luxury Tax Savings. Young center would definitely help but was there one out there for the minimum ? Noel maybe ? IDK …. A Legit 4 …. yeah that would help tremendously. Extending EG was a tricky situation. If you let him go in free agency , you have no way to replace him. Much like when they lost Ariza / Luc for nothing and didn't have the financial ability to fill the void - we're still dealing with that two years later. I dunno , maybe would have been best to have gotten the deal done sooner so you could trade him at the deadline rather than screwing around until August 30 which puts the trade eligible date to March 1st and beyond the trade deadline. IDK how the hell to fix it now .... no tradable contracts aside from Capela , Tucker and McLemore. Only one tradable #1 pick for .… the rest of the future picks are already gone or cant trade them. Pretty frustrating to watch a team with two MVP's struggle so much.
I don't know if that's the facts or if its supposition on our part …. Think about it , what has he had to work with financially ? Vet Min and that's about it. Why was Ariza let go to begin with ? The Tax Line. Three straight years they have failed to use the full amount of any version of the MLE. Those players we are seeking may simply be out of his price range … the market for those players dries up quick fast and in a hurry as the Rockets have shown the importance of 3D players better than any other team. I'm pretty sure he'd like to have a 6'9 forward that shoots 40% from three and can guard 3-4-5 …. He just hasn't had the cap space nor assets available to go get one. Hell , if he did Mike , Dan and Tony might not play him cause he's too tall …. That guy might actually be on the damn roster already in Clark - You gotta play the guy and see if he improves , let him clank shots at the same 76% rate that EG is clanking …. and play some defense , couldn't be any worse than EG shooting 24% and playing poor defense.
This will keep happening, 0-27 was not an outlier, we will continue to be stupid and hoist up threes. Harden and Gordon did it against Wizards, got lucky, Harden did a one-man version of it against Nets and didn't work. Tonight, didn't work. At some point you're going to have to recognise that this isolation heavy display of shooting threes at all costs without mixing it up and getting easy buckets is just asinine. Teams have caught up with threes and lay-ups and they do it much better than us with ball and body movement, exploiting mismatches etc. MDA is basically McHale at the moment, just let Harden whatever and not putting in any sets on offense to mix it up. Lazy lame duck.
What's with the b**** and son talk, you clearly sound like a guy who's trying to come across as a poser with the only word missing "bro". Why you feel the need to say you've been around long enough, as if people with a different opinion are not...
This is absolutely not true, I think Westbrook has been pretty awesome so far, but lets not be bias and say this. You said this same stuff last year and it ended up not being true.
Yes it did. How can you deny it when our offense was far from great the entire play-offs and it cost us against the Warriors. Defense was far from the main problem then, it was inability to hit shots and it was straight up clanking in the clutch.
Harden is the leader. His energy, competitiveness and defense in the start of each game sets the tone for the entire game. This has happened time and time again during the last games in the playoffs, the past couple of years, against the Warriors. Rockets would come out of the gate with no sense of urgency, killer instinct, ball movement and defense. A team can only go as far as the leader would lead em too.
