Give Morey some asset and he will. Rumors suggested they've been trying for some time (which shouldn't be a surprise) but when you have no assets it's not easy. Then, there's the tax issue...
He would have an asset named Eric Gordon if he didn't sign him to an extension that makes him untradeable until AFTER the trade deadline. Not that he'd be as huge of an asset even if he was tradeable, given the extension he signed. EG as an expiring asset might have been useful to some lottery team with a big they'd be willing to move.
Eh, not sure how much value 31 years old and expiring Gordon would have tbh, and regardless, if you trade Gordon (especially expiring) you won't get back a better player anyway so, yeah.
Well, just salary to use in a trade. Even that is difficult now. So some lotto bound team with an older vet on a mutli-year contract.
Well, we already added one of the two players I hated the most in Westbrook. Might as well get the other.
It'd be interesting how CF would react. We've seen how fans changed their hate to love for Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook once they became part of the Rockets.
It won't happen, but Draymond would fit with this team very well... Iggy is seeming more and more likely to be the best fit available..
Iggy would be extremely difficult for us to acquire. I don't think we could possible get him without including a starter because of salary matching and he doesn't appear interested in signing here as a buyout (unfortunately._
Agreed, but he is available... But that price may keep it from ever happening. As of now he hasn't played yet this season...
He was signed but let go I believe before regular season. If I'm wrong then ESPN and wikipedia needs to update their info. https://www.espn.com/nba/team/roster/_/name/bkn/brooklyn-nets
There are three ways the Rockets add help. They trade Clint Capela..... Players like Robert Covington, Serge Ibaka, Michael Kidd Gilchrist, Al Farouq Aminu, Trevor Ariza or Taj Gibson would fit this type of criteria They trade for a less expensive player being under utilized.... Nerlens Noel, Richaun Holmes, Treveon Graham, David Nwaba, Isaac Bonga or Rondae Hollis-Jefferson would fit this criteria They wait for the buyout market..... Andrea Iguodala, Nicolas Batum (if they will eat his last year), Jon Henson, Courtney Lee or possibly a Marvin Williams.
To think that the Rockets can get Ben Wallace and 2 Tony Allen and will resolve the current defensive issue is just dumb. You can not play defense when you have 3 V 5. This team should focus on offense and score more points. It is the direction they selected once they had decided to trade for Westbrook.
I would totally be down for trading Capela for Green. We would still need a C though unless Green wants to play that position.
The best part about Draymond is that he is short enough for Mike D'Antoni to actually give minutes to.
Austin Rivers, Russell Westbrook, and Donkey? Why don't we go ahead and coax Matt Barnes out of retirement while we're at it? I mean, at this point I'm getting pretty good at overcoming my distaste for players. Not Derek Fisher, though. I have my limits.
The other side of the coin is that if you get Ben Wallace and 2 Tony Allen's, it kills the offence... Sure, there would be an uptick defensively, but at what cost overall? It needs to be someone like Covington, or Batum, or Marvin Williams - a long 3 who can play that 4 spot and step in at the 5 for the smallball closing lineups if required. It's tough - but if Harden, Westbrook, Gordon and Tucker are closing games out, then finding the player who can make a significant impact reduces it to a very, very small pool to choose from!
