I have spent a lot of time in China. There is no place on earth other than possibly North Korea where people have less privacy and personal freedoms. Almost every facet of a persons life in China is monitored by the state and all behavior has to be what the state wants. Criticism of the state is not allowed. The state quietly removes all those that voice an opinion that questions the state.

It is cute that your defense is that China is “safe” as that is one of the justifications the PRC uses to have complete and total control of the lives of their citizens.

Between burning down churches and sending 2,000,000 Muslims to concentration camps, the Chinese government is busy.
