Be nice if we could pick up another up and coming player like Danuel House... except this small forward can play lock down defense.
I think we should be looking at players that don’t make other teams and trim the roster by 2 spots to use on that talent. Hartenstein, Clark should both make the team over the two grandpa bigs —> they both had super careers but time gets everyone. Bennett is very interesting and if he is a keeper then cut Green bigger/younger player same role. Our “Answers” maybe on another team at the moment. Amile Jefferson please how many power forwards can one team keep? Bruno may shake loose, too.
If thabo speciality is defense, he has some of coarse experience playing with james and russell in okc, i dont see why him coming off the bench and spliting time with green would be a huge deal. He might have 1 or 2 years left in him. There is openings for back up sg, sf and PF.. Green is getting old in limited offensive role in late 2nd and 3rd quarters when houston needs big 3's from him. Also i think Benett will make it, he surprised alot of people, he could be a good stretch. Might as well sign Hartenstein as well, because you need someone to come in and play when nene is gonna be in street clothes half the time lol. Westbrook ~ Rivers Gordon ~ Green ~ McLemore House ~ Mclemore ~ Thabo Tucker ~ HartenStein/Bennett Capela ~ Chandler/Nene Thats my 13, I would also have Bennett, Clark,Ponds, and Clemons in Viper with possible Call ups.. Hart has probably earn his backup role. You can always switch out Clark with Bennett for the vipers.
Where is James-the-Beard-Harden? On the trading block? You need to go back to the drawing board. If not and you are sticking with your picks, with McLemore up there twice, you must be on something or better yet, don't quit your day job.
Low-key Thabo was actually really effective last year. Highest On/Off on Utah of players who played 500+ min 44% from 3; 60% TS (2.0/4.6 per36) +2.3 DRPM (3rd among SFs, behind Covington and Paul George) +2.6 DBPM 2.5 steals/36 Not the biggest sample size but I don't predict him falling off that much, since he hasn't really been athletic in years
Thabo still has really good numbers. The thing about him though is that he can’t play heavy minutes. But he is still a good player when he’s on the court. He will help the team for sure.
Definitely won't be shooting 40% from three, if he did he'd be getting paid 20 mil a year. Never was a good shooter, usually a liability just like shumpert but I like the addition, maybe his shoot has improved with age.
Thabo has shot over 40% 3 times in his career, including 43% last year. Take a look at what he shot playing with Russell. He nails wide open J's from downtown, and will see more than he ever has here. Everyone knows about his elite D, but he's also a fantastic rebounder. Thabo is going to play an important role for us.
Fans: We need D... Harden: We need good men The coach: we need forwards... Tilman: we need veteran... minimums
I think it's good to have Thabo and Clark on the roster competing for backup 4 minutes. A little bit of length there and rest for Tucker is desperately needed. Surely between those two we can come up with a good 20 backup PF minutes. Leaving 28 minutes at the 4 to Tucker as well as some flexibility to have Tucker slide over to the 3 on slower wings. We will need him to have that flexibility against both LA teams. Aside from that we need someone to compete with House for SG/SF insurance minutes. That shows Harden to slide into the backcourt when we want to go big. None of these people are going to put us over the top, but decent stop gaps. If one pans out, it's worth it.
