And Chad Donato is through 5 scoreless innings. Both Donato and Arauz are on track to need to be added to the 40 man to avoid being lost in the Rule 5.

Shaver and Adams just homered too.

Shame Donato missed so much injury time early in his career, he's got the arm. Not sure anyone would take a Rule 5 flyer on him but you never know.

Really good stuff and some success in AA means there are likely to be teams out there willing to give him a shot in their bullpen. Elieser Hernandez didn’t have nearly the ceiling of Donato and hadn’t pitched above High A and he got taken.

This year they probably will be able to. So many pending free agents, a handful of dfa candidates, no money to spend in free agency...they’ll probably be able to add every high risk rule 5 guy they want.

A little surprised that no one mentioned this, but Brett Conine was promoted to Corpus today.

Didn't no which thread for this:

Is there a cost in service time to bring Tucker up now and giving him more of an audition than waiting until September call ups? I know there is just so many at bats to go around, but he can be the guy that spells our outfielders and dh for a few weeks. It would be nice to get him in against good major league pitching just in case Reddick continues his poor offense the rest of the way or someone gets injured. It seems to me September sees a lot of teams pitching minor league auditions.

It is unlikely the 2 weeks between now and Sept 1 would make any difference in his service time calculations. But unless they plan on releasing Reddick, they won’t call up Tucker in rosters expand.

Sure 3 great years from Tucker in higher leagues bs 1 solid year, a suspension, and a piss poor year.

    Makes sense.

Talent makes sense, since we're talking about projections and all.

Brandon Bailey vs. Frisco: 5 IP, H, BB, 9 K
Luis Garcia vs. Down East: 6 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 13 K

The one run that Garcia allowed came on a solo homer. The 13 strikeouts are a new career high for him.

Adams was Luhnow’s public sleeper pick from that draft class. 70 grade power. He looks more athletic than his scouting report. Worth following next year as he’ll start in AA with a chance to make some noise.

He looked more trim in that video than I recall from last year.

He even played 19 games at 3B this season, which is also a good sign that he’s more agile than previously thought. He’s still likely to only be a 1B, but at least he doesn’t profile as a DH only player.
