I think he mentioned in the playoffs that he wants to retire and spend more time with his kids. Nene was playing better then Clint against the Warriors. The problem was his body . The big guy busted his ass off over the years and deserves some appreciation. Same with Paul . You see people bashing Chris , sure he slowed down but boy that first year was fun!

He always has the option to sign with us again on a re-up! A chip might be the reward.

I think he might do this. He opted out so we had a lil more flexibility. I’m sure he also said he was gonna retire soon. So it’s either everything works for us and he signs back with us. Or he just retires and stay involve in the org.

Thank you all for your responses. I’ve let my friend know and he’s satisfied. He’s a clipper fan and was hoping they could sign him.

Tell you friend to fork off, as he knows Bev will go after Russ’ knee again and causing him to miss 20 games.

I would like to see him come back for another season, at the minimum.

I totally buy that. He’s an awesome dude off the court, supports a lot of local Houston businesses. I’m 100% sure the city will embrace him regardless of what he does next; if he decides to stay here, or come back in the future.

Could bring back Nene on a min contract; play him one game, Chandler the next...keep them both fresh while maintaining your depth at C behind Capela.

Come playoff time, you can play whoever matches up better

i assume bennett will be replacing naynay. i think having 1 super senior citizen in chandler is enough, especially for the same position. however, bennett doesn't instill confidence in anyone

I think Chandler replaces Nene. He's a gritty veteran C with limited mobility - so, Nene.

Bennett (if he makes the roster) should fill a role that we haven't had for a bit - a power forward taller than a small forward.

We also have Deyonta Davis at 3rd C (replacing Hartenstein). Not sure what we have in him. But it's nice that we are at least experimenting with more depth.

oh. didn't realize bennett is a pf. thought he would be backing up capellla. damn so we basically have no backup c. chandler is old and who is daytona davis?
