So many in here are acting like they forgot or never knew that Daryl's job involves working on many levels at once. Think about the real motivation behind what is said and how it relates to what we're trying to get done. Many of you just want to look at this in a simplistic fashion when in actuality it is a much more complicated equation. It's not as simple as us saying we want this player or that player. And then when we don't get them, we just struck out...or "we shouldn't be publicly chasing everyone" Often times he is driving up the price other teams have to pay. It's applied game theory...very strategic/orchestrated. Think of us as a big stack at a poker table. Also, giving off false tells..misdirection...The Rockets might be publicly over here, while in reality, they want something else. DM is a champ at what he does....lining up multiple moves..with many contingencies. Keep in mind there are many ways to skin a cat. Ie.winning on the court. Having an overall understanding of where you sit is so important also. There is a time and place to shove it all in. These are just a few basic things to keep in mind.( there are many more) So, try to be patient. We are in GREAT hands. This includes Tilman, as he and Daryl are on the same page. There Is the PR portion of this, but it's not playing in right now as much as you think.
FTR - I think a big move IS coming.

Great. Another "Morey is a genius, savant, jehovah" thread.

Meanwhile, Tilman can't even make payroll.

I’ll give Morey the benefit of the doubt that an impact player is coming.

    Big stack = leverage

We're playing from a position of strength.

Look I'd be more inclined to believe all this moves lined up if they got Jimmy B after promising fireworks and having the pick of all FAs.

At the end of the day the Rox are capped out and already missed the boat on the biggest FAs. I'd rather have an FO like Miami who keep quiet and then get Lebron or Jimmy B than an FO like Rox were everybody talks a big game but then sign Deyonta Davis. If the FO doesnt self hype then people wont have extremely high expectations year after year. Now I love the FO but if they arent gonna make major moves don't make bogus announcements and proclamations.

The media now has the perception Morey is like a cheap w**** who tries to go after any and all stars available. Thats why there are Westbrick rumors even if him coming to play with Cp3 and Harden makes no sense whatsoever. "Oh X is available? Time to make an article about how the Rox are in play"

    TIlman/Rockets are playing poker alright.

They are the player that's on every table, the super tight, but super loud player.

He folds nearly every hand, but never forgets to tell you, what he would/could have gotten if he didn't.

This player doesn't ever push in his chips or buy in for more, but you'll definitely know his opinions about the "game".
