Bad ownership can cripple a franchise

    Clippers (Donald Sterling who was notoriously cheap and ran his team like a business)
    Knicks (James Dolan)
    Thunder (cost the Thunder championships because he didn't want to pay luxury tax)
    Kings (meddles in draft picks and the team has no direction)
    Lakers (After Jerry Buss died, the rest of the Busses aren't good owners)
    Suns (also arguably cost the Suns a shot at winning it all by being cheap)


    where does this guy rank in the landscape of NBA owners?

    It’s early, but I have to say I don’t have a good feeling about Fertitta’s ownership so far. Hopefully he’s on that learning curve and things will improve, but I don’t think there’s any doubt that he’s got the Rockets operating at less than an optimal level.
