embiid is significant. simmons meh. i have a bunch of ties to lsu in BR and everyone there always talks about how simmons is incredibly difficult to coach and more often than not he does what he wants. they couldnt wait til he left bc he was such a headache. coaches would ask him to do things and hell turn right around and do the opposite. that's why its just such a toss up with him

Simmons is a prima donna. Honestly the Sixers would be better off trading him. The guy has no interest in improving his game (e.g. getting a jumpshot) and that definitely lowers his ceiling as well as the team's.

i wouldn't want to be the one extending this guy to the max and reports were they opened those discussions. hes without a doubt the guy who will chase the money over winning. that's his mo before anything. so if philly is going to offer less than max, he'll decline and just be more than open to joining a bad team who will open their wallet for him

    Yup.
And back when the ownership of Philly was in shambles and there were minor owners sabotaging Harris with leaks to the press, we learned that Embiid didn't pay any attention to Brown and did also what the heck he wanted.

Ofc he may have matured since then, but as time goes on, one is more likely to treat his coach worse than better.

    why not?
Extending someone doesn't mean you marry him for life.
His max is still only a rookie max, tons of teams out there will be all over trying to trade for him.
But they can't stall it for long, because if he keeps getting exposed in the playoffs or when Klutch start leaking he wants to go to a big market, his trade value will plummet.
For the next season though, he will be one of the prime assets available.

why not what? I was saying if philly doesnt offer him max, he's going to decline. his next contract is going to be at max value whether its in philly or somewhere else

    oh that's what you meant.
Well there's no reason to debate it, because they already have open their talks and offered max.

Probably the Lakers since they’re going to be the only team relevant next year

    Pelicans and Jazz out west
    Sixers and Pacers out east
Raptors up north if Kawhi stays
    Clippers if Kawhi goes there

Simmons won't start b****ing until his max is signed. Then he'll start slowing working towards an outright demand to be traded haha. Knicks, Clippers, Heat...Miami, NY and LY teams should operate in a perpetual mode of being ready to welcome stars who are ready for those outside business dollars + lifestyle. The Rockets try to be in that conversation as well, but we'll never be those teams.

Apart from the really bottom dwellers, I watch many teams.

I think GSW is interesting again.

The Jazz could get a cloned Jordan in his prime and I still wouldn't find them interesting.

Other than Rockets, I'd say New Orleans and Boston. Have been a Kemba fan since forever and glad he's in a new environment.
