That will be devastating, truly, if it happens.

Their stars would "fit" so well together. The one problem that will exist if we pair up Jimmy with our guys is that they don't have that perfect fit.

It's why the Warriors group is still the best ever when they were healthy. They were all perfectly complimentary. Kawhi going to the Lakers would be such a huge blow.

Kawhi-Lebron-Davis would be a fascinating fit, but I don't know about perfect.

Our stars would be a 1-2-3 and theirs a 3-4-4.

Still, they'd eat our anemic front court alive. We'd just have to hope our backcourt wrecks.

His desire to go back to LA is well known.

 

Yeah, I get the whole SoCal thing, but to walk away from a team you just won the championship with, with an adoring major city, heck, an entire nation feting you as their hero? That would be cold. Surely the guy could afford a really great coat, some high tech gloves, some killer boots, and heated transportation. One other thing. Canada may be cold in the winter, but the girls are hot. Davis is apathetic enough to play 5. He is the perfect small ball 5.

 

Positions don't matter, style of play does.

In their situation if Lebron has the ball, Kawhi is a deadly off ball threat and AD is a deadly off ball threat. Both players can move and cause issues for the defense, be it AD rolling to the rim, moving out to the perimeter or Kawhi being a deadly 3 point shooter.

The Rockets have not show that they will play that way and Butler is not a marksman shooter. So they will likely still do a lot of my turn your turn stuff.

The Clippers loom out there, too. I'd think Kawhi would look at them, too.

 

I feel bad for Morey. Does pretty much everything right for a decade, as opposed to the Lakers who do everything wrong for a decade, but he can’t compete with the Lakers “brand” at the end of the day.

Depressing, but I guess this is just how the NBA is. Congrats to the Lakers.

I get the appeal of LA but Pelinka is an absolute joke of a GM and they are going to land 3 of the top 6-7 players in the NBA in 2 years. A franchise that’s been the epitome of dysfunctional.
