Just checked today and it’s gone. Kind of annoying. Their delivery prices were a bit cheaper, if you have prime, than the other options. Plus if your order was ****ed up they’d take care of it in true amazon fashion.

What are yalls go to if ordering delivery?

Typically under $10 I do Favor and over $10 Uber Eats, as Uber Eats charges a $2 fee if under $10. Granted most meals are going to be over $10 unless you’re just getting a sandwich or burrito or something.

I’ve used Door Dash and Uber Eats a few times.

But my usual routine is to pull one of them up, put in an order and then at checkout I get pissed as it costs me $10-$15 more than just picking up and I end up not ordering and picking up myself cause I’m cheap and only have to tip a few bucks at pickup

If it’s over 10 it’s free delivery from Uber eats? I totally forgot about them.

There are a lot of places with $0.50-$1.50 delivery fees and free delivery if you share the courier. There’s an additional $2 charge if your order is under $10. It’s usually reasonable.

I’ve noticed that Postmates charges over menu price when I’ve ordered tacos a go go from them. Gave me a kinda shady feeling about them.

When you receive the meal, do you tip the delivery guy? If so, how much?

I tip 4 or 5 bucks for pretty much all food deliveries to the house.

Hey man I’m right there with you but I’m a single father to a five month old and sometimes it’s worth the money not to have to get her ready and put in the car seat to go pick it up. If she’s napping I’m not going to wake her up to go either. If it was just me I’d definitely be picking up.

I am hooked on doordash, first 30 days are free delivery, tip 3-4 bucks for a 15-18 meal and I get it in 30-40 min. For a single guy who cant cook and has no groceries in the house its awesome, I do it about 2-3 times a week and I get a decent meal without dirtying the dishes. I am also lazy and do not want to drive to get it :)

If you have extra cash, just tip the driver when he gets there so he can pocket all of it.

Meh. $8 per order for the driver seems pretty damn fair.

The $8/order was an example. The point of the complaint is that folks think they are giving the driver an extra X dollars and that isn't happening. I suspect you would want any extra money you tip to go to the driver rather than the company itself, wouldn't you?

This is the rule for pretty much every tipping industry. Always tip in cash whenever possible. If you don't, the tipee loses like 20% (or possibly more) right off the top between taxes and whatever financial chicanery is practiced by their managers.
