No doubt! The obsession with what external personalities have to say about this club is borderline embarrassing. Rockets are thin-skinned? Look in the mirror.

Who cares? Evidently the Rockets want to be the villain and that's fine. If you can't win a championship, it still keeps the team relevant in news cycles, for better or for worse.

A simple congrats to Giannis and "Congrats James Harden on your historic season," followed by a few Harden stats would've been enough. This looks like sour grapes and detracts from Harden's season. The backlash is predictable and deserved.

Sour grapes would be saying the MVP is a meaningless award or something.

i hope the organization doesn't back down. what's wrong with supporting our players when they're at their best. like i said in another post, they in no way disrespected Giannis who might have been more deserving, thanks to majority opinion (aka "voters"). this is just praise from our team for our MVP. people just wanna start something out of nothing

So beating the Warriors without KD for 5 quarters is easy now?

What if I sold you a series without KD the entire time and Klay missed 5 quarters?

Then the narrative would be “Oh that’s what you are suppose to do, that’s easy” right?

The frustrating part about this particular narrative is that it wasn't the Rockets audit, it was the NBA's audit. All the Rockets did is assign points to the missed calls.

All social media and mainstream media is there to make money. They are selling a product. They want views, clicks, eyeballs, trends that equates to advertisement dollars and data mining. They don’t care what the response is. If people bash so what money. If people like us defend who cares money. By talking about them or giving them a platform or giving them time you are still giving them what they want. So don’t be a pawn and give it attention. Don’t even bother fighting back. The narratives are spun and people do not change their mind. Debates just cause people to entrench themselves in their own beliefs. Focus on personal growth, financial independence, and healthy positive living. That is why I have no problem what the Rox did. Support your man and **** what everyone thinks cause it’s already there.

Harden is the greatest symbol and role model for that.

Take a look at this man. He came into the league unheralded after a poor post season tourney. He wrote a letter to OKC talking about how great of a COMPLEMENTARY player he would be to Durant and Westbrook. How self aware and humble for a young man with that talent openly be ok with taking a backseat when he is trying to “arrive”. He goes on to OKC and displays his talent and accepting of his role. His teammates loved him. Take a look at Collisons quotes on him. Not only is he a beloved teammate he backs it up on the court. His play against the vaunted spurs are the reason okc gets a chance to play against the heatles. The heat then strategically gameplay around stopping him. The player in discussion for GOAT, top 3 sg of all time, battier, and the leaders of positionless basketball understood his role and made it a priority to shut him down and stop the young dynasty. Instead of being offered congrats. Harden is maligned. How many young kids make the playoffs let alone beat one of the greatest teams of all time only to be shut down by one of the greatest teams of all time. Yet harden is laughed at. If that is 5e barometer than there are plenty of failures in the NBA already.

That offseason he is accepting of his 6th man role and doesn’t demand a starting role but asks for a max extension to compensate for his abilities. A 3rd year player coming off a great series against the spurs and getting selected to team USA and is best friends with Durant doesn’t get a max extension...

He proceeds to come here on the eve of the season and crush the pistons and hawks displaying scoring prowess that no one knew he had. He immediately signs an extension with us and has never once shown us any disloyalty. He has taken every opportunity he could get to stay with us and ride or die htx. The community and organization loves him and he reciprocates. From Harvey to all the Rice tourneys he’s hosted he’s ingrained in Htx. I can’t even tell he’s an LA boy to start with.

From the moment he got here he has brought exciting games and success to boot. Idk if you guys were around during the franchise days where we did nothing. Or McGrady or Yao where we got to the second round once. Or when we had a team headlined by Martin Lowry Scola battier and Hayes and couldn’t make the playoffs. But from the moment he got here he took a team with young Lin/Beverley/Parsons/Garcia/Delfina/Asik to the playoffs. Think about that. Booker can’t get there with Ayton. Towns can’t get there. Davis couldn’t get there with Holliday. Harden got there from year one. We’ve only Lost to a lower seeded team twice and one of those was the best team of all time. Even if we can’t win a ship he has provided heroics and excitement for a franchise that was floundering.

Even through all of this success excitement and branding he is slandered like no player I have seen. He is polarizing to the extreme. But he doesn’t seem to care. And for that he is in my opinion a role model. He is hated on, cursed at, downplayed, wished physical ill upon, undermined by the media. No one appreciates his greatness and yet he has higher expectations than the rest of the league. His amazing physical skills are not obvious to the eye. His mental approach to the game is unheralded. He hasn’t demanded trades. He’s giving to the community. There has been little drama around him with teammates except for Howard (lol) and now. He hasn’t been a part of any scandals. He doesn’t have a billion kids. He loves the game and is constantly working. The NBA brethren seem to have always liked him. He’s **** on for liking strippers (young and rich and single) and dating kardashians.

Yet you don’t see him fazed. He doesn’t lash out at media. He doesn’t give out interviews but when he does he is professional. He takes all the slander in stride and doesn’t offer it any attention. He continues to be a dog and just kill it with his game. Harden is focused on the game and securing the bag and doesn’t give a crap about anything else. We should all take a page out of his book and focus on the same in our own lives and drown the noise. For his play and his demeanor and his approach to life I will admire harden and ride for him no matter what. **** the world and the haters. Continue tipping on your 44s. Always gonna run as one.

I am ok with the other guy wins it, but not too long ago, Westbrook won it because of a "historical season", and I think Harden did have a historical season this year.

Agree 100%. Acting like clowns and then we're surprised with the media's treatment. The org should be way above stuff like this - this is so petty. Harden didn't win. Move on and focus on getting a ring.

Though I doubt this will significantly hurt, it certainly doesn't help with our perception in the league with other players. Completely self-induced L on the Rockets part.

Total disrespect to get a few cheap, easy laughs. I'd love it if Harden had slapped him upside the head after that.
