Good to great teams with cap space...

- Sixers? Seems like a bad fit.
- Bucks? They would've to dump Snell and Ilyasova and they basically have no 1st rounders to trade until 2024, i mean, on paper makes sense if they can't resign Lopez, but seems just too difficult to pull off...
- Lakers? But at that point i wonder how they will play...Horford at center, AD at the 4, Kuzma at the 3 and Lebron at the PG?

Not really sure tbh, Spurs and Jazz might be able to go after him with some moves (salary dump and let Favors go) but they don't exactly look like great fits to me...

 

The bucks have 0 cap space. They gotta resign brogdon Middleton mirotic Lopez and they probably can’t even do that.

 

They can, until they officially match Brogdon and resign Middleton they weight for around 20M together in cap space.

They could:

1. let go Mirotic (unless he resigns for chip)
2. dump Snell and Ilyasova
3. let Lopez go
4. sign Horford
5. resign Middleton and match Brogdon

 

Plan A is likely Butler but Horford should be a legitimate option. Capela S&T hard caps the Rockets but improves them immensely in my opinion.

 

I actually would rather have Lopez. That length and that shot would be deadly in our lineup.

 

That's a fair point, but was just saying, on paper they could do it although it seems unlikely since i'm not sure how they would be able to dump Snell and Ilyasova with a 2024 1st rounder...they also already traded three 2nd rounders until 2022.

Gordon and Nene for Butler...the Rockets would want the deal agreed to before the 30th, but it doesn’t have to be completed until the new nba calendar year (July, to avoid luxury tax for 2018-2019 season).

Then Capela and guarantee enough of our extra contracts to make the numbers work for Horford.

Both are opt-in and trades, so no hard cap issues. Houston keeps its taxpayer MLE to add a 6th significant player.

It could even be adjusted to a 3 team deal if Boston and the 76ers are open to it.

Sounds like Danny Ainge gave him a low ball offer. Probably two years for forty million. Ainge does have a risk averse reputation.
