Man I want you to be right but my gut tells we'll trade him for 1) the 2019 version of Terence Williams + 2) a late 1st + 3) expiring contract.
I love Chris Paul, probably the best true Pt Gaurd the Rockets have ever had, but he looked way past his prime last year and is only getting older. If he really wants out, why even trade just ask him to take a 0 dollar buyout. Call that bluff. Rather just get the contract off our books. Makes no sense for Chris Paul to want out. He got paid close to 40 million dollars to miss half the season, and get carried by our Superstar. Where else is he gonna get that?
Stephen A says speculation like it's fact. I don't mind if he wants out but I don't believe Stephen A either.
Pretty sure SAS was the one who reported problems between CP3 and the Rockets during contract negotiations last year. That turned out to be total BS so I wouldn’t read too much into this. SAS is always talking (or screaming) out of his ASS.
If this is true and CP3 does indeed want out due to conflicts with Harden, then RIP any superstar player coming here in his prime. CP3 is a well respected voice around the league and a role model to several other all stars.
I need to hear it to analyze it. Stephen A. says things differently when he's reporting something he's hearing and when he's running wild with rumors.
Wasn't that Broussard? SAS actually said that people around Chris Paul were saying Lebron wouldn't have come here.
Apologies if someone already posted this: https://www.theringer.com/nba/2019/6/12/18662086/stephen-a-smith-never-wrong-nba
Maybe if the coach is allowed to coach and our GM backs off a bit on the data analytics our team might be standing around waiting on our best player a little less. If Chris really wants out that’s fine; have his people/agent find a trading partner that will take on his $120 million remaining and I’m sure Morey can work our the details.
