Who's your all time rockets starting 5 in 2019? Bench?

    Pg Murph
    Sg Drexler
    SF Tmac
    Pf Hayes
    C Dream

    Bench
    Pg Beard
    Sg Mobley
    SF Horry
    Pf Malone
    C Yao

My bench would have 3 pt bombs with incredible rebounders. Beard off the bench would be killer. People forget how great Mobley could shoot 3s and run the court.

For starters, Hayes and Dream would destroy inside.

Murph, Drexler, and Tmac would pick apart any weak defender.

You might want to consider putting a true PG somewhere on that roster.

I'm gonna go a bit crazy

    CP3
    Drexler
    James
    Hakeem
    Sampson

    Bench

    Gordon
    T mac
    Ariza
    Artest
    D- mo ;)

Think about it , we play super uptempo with the starters . Clyde can be the slasher ... james the shooter . Hakeem and Ralph run like deer . Think of the outlet passes . See how aggressive James is with Clint ... imagine passing to Ralph or dream .

CP3 (17-18 version) is there to hold it down and defend .

We will probably play small a bit . Although Ralph and Hakeem can play together ... our bench adds the perfect versatility to take on small ball lineups . Gordon , long defenders in Ariza and tmac (tmac is also a monster )

Ron Ron is the perfect modern small ball 4-5.

It's theoretical , but prime Artest playing a role like green .... would be like green on steroids .

    I really only needed 9 .

I struggled with who to put in the 10 . Position really doesn't matter .

More shooting is always good . Maybe Maxwell .

If we are picking players who have played for Houston, but are taking them at their peak whether it was with us or not(or whether I despise them or not).....

This would be my starting 5

    Paul
    Harden
    Pippen
    Barkley
    Olajuwon

    Bench

    Murphy
    Drexler
    McGrady
    Artest
    Sampson

    House BARELY missed the cut.

    Cassell/Beverly
    Maxwell/Harden/Rudy T.
    Horry/Drexler/Rudy T.
    Thorpe/Hayes (Chuck)
    Olajuwon/Yao/Mutombo

My team beats every other. Don't try and argue. You'll only be making a fool of yourself.

    Nice touch.

I struggled with not adding Tru Warrier or Yao.

Assuming talent we are talking about their talent levels as a Rocket (ie no CP3, Barkley)

Start: Calvin, Harden, TMac, Hayes, Olajuwon
Bench: Lucas, Drexler, Rudy T, Sampson, Malone.

Mobley is a better shooter, better 3pt shooter, better rebounder scores more points and runs the floor better than mad max. Plus he's a solid defender too. I'd put maxwell for my 11th guy. Vernon is obviously a better defender.

When paired with Dream, Hayes could hold his own. He would get just as many if not more rebounds than Malone. I put Malone coming off the bench.

Maxwell was better than Mobley in most thing if not everything.. did Mobley ever hit a meaningful shot for a meaningful team in a meaningful game? How many clutch shots Maxwell hit? Can Mobley guard Micheal Jordan and have success?

Mobley may be a candidate for a rockets trash team, an overrated good for nothing player.

    CP3/Francis/Cassell
    Harden/Drexler/Maxwell
    McGrady/Artest/Battier
    Olajuwon/Horry/DMo
    Yao/Mutumbo/Howard

I stuck to players from my lifetime. Pippen and Barkley were washed up by the time they were Rockets. Scola could replace DMo and Gordon or Ariza could replace Battier. Center and PF were the toughest positions to fill.

    Paul, Harden, Drexler, Tmac, Hakeem
Pat Beverly, Artest, Pippen, Hayes, Mutombo

I put some thought into this. I’m going on all in their prime.

This team if in their prime would probably beat any combo of players from the Rockets.

The defense on the second unit would break the will of all of the benches listed here. And the starters have a point guard. Every team automatically has Hakeem.

The bench would be so fun to watch though. Epic
