Doubtful you get anything in return for Paul that improves the team. The move would be to clear Capela's and maybe Gordon's cap hit to create room to sign a third star......but that's assuming said third star views Harden/Paul Rockets as a sexy destination when weighing the other potential hot free agent destinations being rumored.

If they trade half of the team, and MDA probably gone, chance is that they will be worse than last year.

Still another wasted year for Harden, I am not sure that is positive news for him.

this is not a good look at all. it makes it looks like james wants chris out, just because cp3 wanted a faster tempo and more ball movement, while james just wants to play hero ball. this looks like a mess. i doubt anyone wants cp3s contract. i also doubt they will successfully improve this roster for next year. we may end up taking a step or two back and hoping to make a big leap the following year.

I agree, that's what i always thought and i still do, but until a week ago i would've bet on Chris Paul not getting traded, as today i'm not sure anymore.

Loyalty's great and all, but that's just not true. And even if it were, look at their ages. Harden's going to start declining soon, and AD's still getting better every year.

i wanna say cp going to lakers but i honestly dont know what that trade package would look like unless we're getting their 4th overall pick. but still idk how contract fillers would work out. then i dont know how we'd send cp to phoenix that involved tyler johnson that also involved a pick bc his contract restricts being traded until after june 29 and the draft is june 20...

Clint Capela should be the only starter actively being shopped. He is a matchup problem against the one team the Rockets have to beat to get to the NBA Finals. That’s not changing anytime soon, either.

You aren’t going to get comparable value back for CP3, and Eric Gordon is underpaid for his production.

i imagine rox let this news go out publicly to create a bid war for cp and capela. cp still has value from last season and same with capela with his contract.

I dun know, more teams' eyes will be on Kawhi, KD and AD, those are better players..... those dominoes always fall after those stars.

Teams will have informed themselves that CP3 is injury prone and has gotten slow.....and that Capela is vulnerable against versatile bigs that can make plays and finish strong.

Send CP3 and Capela to LA for Ingram, Kuzma, Ball and pick 4.

Use cap space to sign KD.

lmao good luck with that. Lakers would hang up laughing.

CP3 is not a positive asset.
