    Wow, outta nowhere.

14% chance at the #1 pick, and can only pick as low as #6. It'll be interesting to see if Beilein can make anything happen with this roster + incoming draftees.

Who in dafuq gives a 66 year old College coach with Zero NBA coaching experience a 5 year deal? The Cleveland Cavaliers. That’s who.

And why leave Michigan? He had it good there.

I think this is going to go about as well as we all expect. Cleveland will probably be looking for a new coach in 2 seasons, and Beilein will be looking to go back to college.

I live in Ann Arbor. People worship the ground Belein walks on. Surprised he would walk away from his lifetime job at Michigan. But I'm sure the money and change of scenery was too good to pass up.

If he lasts 5 years he'll be 71.

71 with a crap ton of money made over the prior 5 years.

Not everyone is Hubie Brown - wait, was Hubie Brown still working this year? In any case, 71 with a ton of money is a good age to retire. He was getting $3.38 million at Michigan, so one would guess his new deal is starting at $5+.

Report: John Beilein’s Coaching Style Is Alienating Players

cavaliers players are rebelling against new coach John Beilein and believe he’s running the team like he’s still in college, according to Joe Vardon and Shams Charania of The Athletic. Some players have already tuned out Beilein and are seeking guidance from lead assistant J.B. Bickerstaff, the authors add.

“Guys drowned out his voice, and when guys start searching for the next in line for help, I believe you’ve lost them,” one player said anonymously.

“Our assistants are definitely more prepared for the NBA,” another claimed.

The Cavs have dropped four straight games and 10 of their last 11, falling to 5-15 overall. They are coming off a 33-point loss to Pistons on Tuesday, which was followed by a Wednesday film session where both sides expressed their frustrations over what has gone wrong, according to sources.

Player grievances include “nitpicking” over fundamentals, “harping” during long film studies and Beilein’s alleged failure to understand the NBA game. Sources tell Vardon and Charania that the complaints run through the entire team and aren’t limited to any demographic.
