We need players that don't crumble against the Warriors.

    Option #1
    *Julius Randle (this season)*

    2 games vs Golden State
    23 mins per game
    17 ppg, 64.3% fg percentage
    3-3 from three (100%)
    13-14 free throw (93%)
    8.5 rebs per game
GSW shot only 5-12 (41.7%) against Julius.

He has a $9 mil player option next year. Pelicans are drafting Zion, so Julius may leave for free agency or maybe we can work a sign and trade with the Pelicans.

    Option #2
    *Rudy Gay (this season)*

    3 games vs Golden State
    26 mins per game
    17 ppg, 50% fg percentage
    5-8 from three (63%)
    8-9 free throw (89%)
    4.7 rebs per game
GSW shot only 11-25 (44%) against Rudy.

Rudy is a free agent. Go after him hard.

These two guys should be top priority in the off-season. Give me guys that aren't intimidated against the Warriors, and will help James.

Both good choices imo. But neither put us over the hump.

we need tough smart players on the team who are unafraid of big moments against tough teams. just cause these guys played well in 3 guys against the warriors doesnt mean much, even capela had a big game against the warriors then the playoffs happened. also other teams are starting to get better so we need skills that can transfer over against any ELITE team that we face.

That said if we can get either of these guys for a good deal without losing our core players they'd be welcome pickups.

We aren't getting any all-stars. Not with our cap situation. The Chris Paul contract kills any chance of getting another mvp caliber player to play with James. We have to look for those 15-20 ppg players that we can get for decent money.

    Clint Capela (this season)

    4 games vs Golden State.
    36 minutes per game
    15 ppg, 56% fg percentage
    10-11 free throw (91%)
    14.8 rebounds per game
    +8.9 +/-

    :p

This his regular season stats? Exactly. This aint is just a bad match up for capela. He choked plain and simple. Against tough competition where every play can make or break the season he just doesnt have it. Don't talk to me about Minnesota or Utah from a year ago. We could've beat those scrubs with javale mcgee.

Capela vs Golden State (4 games in regular season)

Golden State made 52% of their shots against Clint in the regular season. And, they made 55% of their shot against Clint in the postseason.

Clint was bad on defense in the regular season against Golden State. He was bad on defense in the playoffs against Golden State. His offense and rebounding really took a dip in the playoffs against GSW (9 ppg, 10 rpg versus Warriors). He really let everyone down.

Don't forget the horrible defense in those four games. Warriors shot
35-67 (52.2%) against Clint in those 4 regular season games.

He was just as bad (worse) in the postseason.

Yeah agreed he's not very good to begin with and on top of that an even worse clutch playoff performer. This is with the perfect system set up for him to succeed. If we don't trade him for Love this year we will regret it. He's about to make Gorgui Diengs contract look like a steal. If morey can learn from the anderson mishap and cut his losses early may just be able to turn this team around.

Clint Capela, Eric Gordon, Picks for Aaron Gordon, D.J Augustine

Aaron Gordon all around talent, Corner 3 pt shooter, can dribble, pass, get muscle rebounds, Alley Oop dunker

D.J Augustine can create for others, can really shoot the 3, from Houston

He gets a slight pass from me because he is so young. He turns only 25 tomorrow. That is the only reason why I haven't turned on him yet. Im still disappointed that he disappeared like that. I expected him to back up his talk of WANTING the Warriors. From now on, he should just shutup. Depending on what we could get back, I wouldn't be mad at trading him. But, we better get back someone that's worth it.

Those stats don't mean anything lol. Most players won't have the same production on other teams with different gameplans, systems and teammates. Especially against a specific team.

I like Randle, We just need somebody to handle Looney, I think Randle will dominate him.
We can then dump Capela and sign 3-d wings like Ariza, Rivers to match up with Hampton 5.

Just add as much talent as possible with luck. It's going to be hard to pull it off. Maybe Gay might agree to come here for the MLE. Try to go after Hood as well. Will Portland give up Aminu plus a filler for Capela? It might be worth exploring that. Javale might be obtainable too. I'm even keen on going after D. Rose or Tony Parker as a backup to Chris Paul.

It's better then dumping everything for Kevin Love.

Randle is great, but not attainable, imo. In his mind, he signed under market last year. He certainly played like it.

Also regular season stats aren't that meaningful, imo.

While these aren't bad choices, we can't base our offseason solely on how a certain player has played against Golden State in 2 or 3 games.

Also- where is the money going to come from to try to sign these guys?

The hump is barely 2 inches off the ground. They could’ve beaten GS the year easiily

It’ll be tough to get Randle given our cap situation.

Are you suggesting getting Rudy Gay if it means no Rivers, Faried or House?
    Not arguing, just curious.
