Do you think we should’ve kept all these role players waiting for an opportunity to trade for another perhaps younger star?Discuss

Not that we got CP3. But boy I so wish we include Clint not Harrel in that deal, and perhaps Gordon not Lou Will.

    But hindsight is always 20/20.

I’m kinda thinking the same. Including Clint would’ve probably allowed us to keep some of these role players. Lou or Pat. More trade assets for the next season. We blew it big time on Harrell and he was really good here as well his pick&roll with Harden was lethal

We have him for 3 more years. So get used to this mistake. It's part of our team now.

I'd still say no, we were that close to win last season, and that would've been one of the biggest upsets ever if not the best. This season we have been in the mix, and with a good move we can easily compete in the future.

Lou has always been a regular season player and didn't work that well with Gordon if you remember.

    Pat was always injured too.

Trez was an interesting young player and he's looking very good now, but he's not exactly an all star.

So, yeah, i'd still do that trade, as today it's easy to say it was a meh move, but let me ask you one thing, if you think it was a bad move, are you one of those who would've been complaining for two years about how Harden had only a bunch of role players around him? Truth is we had the chance to get an hall of fame caliber player for a couple of good role players and we did it, it was the right move and almost paid off.

    This.
Trade was fine, extension not so much.

(but but but that was prearranged with the trade--he was getting a max deal in return!)

It kinda matters. We knew we had only 2 year window with CP being already 32. So that was a big gamble and sadly we are leaving the table with a big hole.

Morey should’ve gave up everything for Paul George after acquiring CP3

No. Did anyone here regret it after the Rockets were looking like they were finally going to beat the Warriors last year with CP3 pulling the strings? CP3's contract was always going to be painful if the Rockets did not manage to win in the immediate future. It was a bet on winning at all costs and that's what you gonna do when you have been a treadmill team mired in mediocrity ever since Yao broke his foot.

OKC are not going to trade PG. Their problem is a lack of shooting ability at the SG and PF position. They have enough assets to fix at least one of these positions through trade while hoping that Ferguson continues his development.
