I love CP3... But ive been disappointed with him these playoffs. Today was a chance for him to take over and apart from a great pull up 3 i cant remember him doing much. Wonder if a Clint/CP3 package could pull Jrue Holiday (and hopefully Randall??) away from NO after the inevitable Boston trade this off season.. I still have hopes that this series can turn and i really hope it does.. but going forward with another year of aging Chris Paul and this win now window for Harden.. i just dont know. Really hope to be proven wrong.
um we are just going to let this comment fly? This is the dumbest thing Ive read on here. That says alot.
if you gonna sign someone for 3, 4 years and pay him 40+ mil a year, at least make sure he's not injury prone and on the younger side of 30.
The verdict on CP3 rests on the outcome of this series. Wasn’t he brought here to: 1. Put us over the top? 2. Spot harden some breathing time 3. Bring leadership 4. Attract free agents? 5. Be our second go to guy for iso-ball???
Exactly! He also made some turnovers at crucial moments in the game. He certainly didn’t play like a $40 million player that is supposed to step up in the playoffs. Chris is still capable of contributing in a big way but the fact is, he needs to do more. If he can’t and the Rockets lose this series then Morey needs to see if he’s willing to reduce his salary to sign a quality FA. If not, Morey needs to do whatever he can to package Paul with another player like Capala or EG in a trade to improve this team.
I love CP3. I hope his jersey gey retired in Staples. But if he doesnt step up, than he could be traded. The likely destination is Charlotte to replace the soon to be departed Kemba Walker. Don't expect much of a return though aka expiring contracts.
doesn't have the same kind of athleticism he did last year. Really sad to see. We used to isolate the guy just like we do Harden, but now the guy can't even get past a center ><
I think he was brought in here as a step. There needed to be another step. That didn't happen. Hindsight is 20/20, and despite REALLY liking Clint, it seems increasingly likely that next step SHOULD have involved Capela being moved. Not that we know what was/would have been possible, but Capela+ type packages for Butler, Paul George. Certainly nobody wants to make bballholic right in any way... but the reason you have to look at Capela is simple - (i) he actually has legit value, and (ii) position-ally, it's a position where you might be able to at least get somewhat close to him cheaply. If you look at a guy like Nerlens Noel... who sure only played 14 mpg, so noted, but was REALLY good in those 14 minutes - 122 ORtg, 99 Drtg. 4.2 blocks per 100 possessions (to Clint's 2.2), etc. That's crazy to say for a team that needs help with rebounding. But it kind of is what it is. EG won't give you the same return, plus he's an expiring next year.
Bev would at least be diving in for rebounds he was a big part of why clippers hung with the warriors. Harell wouldn’t be soft down low, draymond actually respected him.
A poem, written by Clutchfans - titled "The difference one game can make": House is the worst NBA player. House needs all of the MLE. Faried is the X-factor. Faried is a huge liability. Paul is a hall of fame player. Paul is a washed up scrub. D'Antoni is a great players coach. D'Antoni needs to be fired, tomorrow. Capela is the third member of our big three. Capela has hit his ceiling, trade him now.
If y'all expect CP3 to take over games with his scoring, then you clearly haven't followed his career.. The fact you want him to do it at this part of his career is laughable..
Not all of us feel that way. Some loved the signing from day 1 and some hated it. I don't think much has changed since then. I never liked the signing and don't mean any disrespect towards CP3, but just didn't like the amount we paid him, the length of his contract, and the players we lost doing it. I have always felt we gave away our future for a blast from the past who has missed a lot of games for injuries and been less than a star in a whole lot of others. Like everyone else, he has been molded into the pass the ball back to James and watch him ISO philosophy. Sad really.
