It will be a different series though against the Warriors. Boogie was the one man that we just don't have an answer. Him being out helps a lot. Outside Durant, I feel we can at least slow down Steph and Clay at the same time.
Steph and Klay look vulernable and can be stopped but Durant is a different beast. There aren’t many players in the NBA who can affect his shot. Clippers couldn’t do anything against him last night, he was making similar contested shots against us last year with Ariza or Tucker on him.
Some interesting parallels between our 2018 series with the Jazz and this one: 2019 Series Pace: 97.9 2018 Series Pace: 97.2 - 2019: Rockets: 107.0ppg (109.3 ORTG) / Jazz: 97.8ppg (99.9 ORTG) 2018: Rockets: 108.6ppg (111.6 ORTG) / Jazz: 98.6ppg (101.4 ORTG) - 2019: Rockets Shooting: 43.5 FG% | 36.5 3FG% | 56.4 TS% 2018: Rockets Shooting: 44.7 FG% | 36.3 3FG% | 56.5 TS% - 2019 Harden vs Jazz: 27.8ppg | 6.8rpg | 8.0apg | 52.9 TS% (37/35/87 splits) 2018 Harden vs Jazz: 28.0ppg | 5.2rpg | 7.4apg | 54.7 TS% (40/30/91 splits)
We don’t really slow down Steph and klay. Just gotta hope they’re off which has been more often this year. This series is where we’ll miss Ariza because he was the hardest working defender against GSW. His motor on defense was key.
The Rockets have a good defense but we dared the Jazz to make open shots and they obliged by missing.
these guys are not great one on one players. They are great because of the open shots they get from their plays. Our defense is built around disrupting their plays. I would love for any of those two to try and beat us with one on one plays
stop boogiefying the boogie ..rockets have never had problem with the boogie...even in his best years before the injury...have some dignity and put some respect to rockets name..if the boogie were to take a title from them then they dont deserve it...
I think Rockets will need a better defense to stop the GSW. I saw Jazz miss many open 3's which won't be the case with GSW.
