    Keeping Danuel House would most likely mean paying the tax, which Tilman will not and cannot do. So, you had to choose between keeping House and keeping Tilman with the Rockets, who would you choose?

    I think tillman said he would be willing to pay the tax. What he is not willing to pay is the repeater tax.

    Tilman will own the team through 2020.

    Danuel House will be a Rocket through 2020.

    Rivers, Faried, and Shunp, not all of them will be Rockets through 2020.

    Carl Herrera will still make dramatic threads through 2020.

    All of these can still be true.

    Tilman's word is like 1-ply toilet paper. He could have ducked the repeater tax later, this was simply a convenient excuse to dump salary at the price of a 1st rounder + a 2nd rounder + Knight's contract which would have afforded us greater flexibility in acquiring a 3rd star through trade this summer.

    He stated outright that he would do anything to win a championship this season. One would reasonably assume that paying a high luxury tax and ducking the repeater tax later in Harden's window would fall under "anything". The only argument for this behavior is that miraculously we were the only team that couldn't find an upgrade and teams colluded to specifically screw the Rockets. What a coincidence.

    This is getting so stupid.
    Hopefully it’s a joke.

    House got what he wanted, and there was very little repercussions from the holdout.

    Avoiding the luxury tax should have been a priority unless we were adding a big time player, which didn’t seem to be possible.

    Shump was a gamble that was worth taking seeing we didn’t give up anything that could contribute this year.

    We’re not going to be able to keep House next year but we tried.

    Now everyone shut up.
