Perhaps. Only reason I have it on the lower end is because DK is now so deep into the offseason that he likely won’t be game-ready until mid-May at the earliest.

Arietta signed on March 10th or 11th last year. He started the 8th game of the season.

If Keuchel signs in the next few days he would probably miss only 2 starts.

Bregman's not making enough money this year to give any to Keuchel.

He's got paid for helping Boston win a WS with an amazing postseason. He's not worth the kind of money he got, but Boston can afford it and reward him for that run. He's a low 4's ERA, 1.3 WHIP pitcher being paid $17MM per year.

so you'd rather have Miley, James, McHugh or Peacock as your starting pitcher than NE?

    Yes...

Miley, James, McHugh, and Peacock cost 14 million this year
    Eovaldi costs 17 million

Eovalidi hasn't pitched 150 innings since 2015. He's not some rock solid top of the rotation guy.

No I’d rather have Morton at his cost than NE for four years at $17M a year. I’m fine with not having either though and rolling with what we have, if we need a starter we can get one at the deadline.

Edit: And I’d rather give that $17M to Verlander or Cole.

Eovaldi is an incredibly mediocre pitcher, take that for what it's worth. Personally it ain't worth 4 years or 17M per.
