I don't think he played like a 14M safety last year

The market and the Chiefs disagree.

The cap went up and numbers are going to be inflated. The next guy they're going to try to sign might require more than you think too. You gotta play the market.

What a difference a year makes in the Safety free agency market.

Players likely know about it; I'm sure teams try to sell it - but fans way overrate the no state income tax. No player is going to take $95MM instead of $100MM because it's the "same" (or "more") with taxes. If the Texans wanted him, the rate was $14MM/year.

Chiefs are even moreso the team to beat in the AFC, now.

And this infatuation of round numbers is why Russel Westbrook won MVP. At the end of the day 95 million is exactly the same as 100 million with 5% tax...but I digress.

I don't blame Mathieu leaving at all anymore. The poster that made the Yahoo and Google analogy was spot on

I find that hard to believe Houston was very close.

And give me a fully healthy Texans team and I like my chances against them and anybody in the AFC.

Do you know what a healthy Watson Fuller keke and Hop will do...we play them this year as well.

And going to a team who has an MVP caliber QB and was a game away from the SB. I'd have done the same if you wanna win. Houston lost to the freaking Colts. Easy out.

Did you just put "healthy" and "Fuller" in the same sentence?

Watson will sack himself a lot. Fuller will go from fully healthy to out for the year. KeKe cant cover 5 WRs and would also get injured trying, and Hopkins will be looking at his fat bank account and b****es while catching the few passes Watson can throw.

When you have an offense like that, you don't need great defense. Hell, you might not even need an average defense.
